I've been silent for some time now. A lot has taken place personally for me since my last posts and a lot has changed for me.

I have decided to break the silence. I am dipping my toes back into the world of creating for YouTube once more with a new direction and a new outlook.

In terms of the new direction, I will no longer be creating Canada-focused content. This is not to say that I will not create this kind of content at all, it just means that it will not be of primary importance to me. I know many of you are members because you like and care about that content. I no longer find that this topic alone is satisfying for me and so I am going to be branching out.

What will I be writing and posting about, you may ask? Well, the answer to that is complicated.

At the moment, I'd like to leave some mystery around what, specifically, I'll be making but, at its core, I hope to use this channel to explore questions and ideas around philosophy, religion and psychology. These were always a part of what I did with this channel, albeit through the lens of Canadian history, and they were always the parts I liked best and enjoyed studying the best.

For many of you, this is not at all what you signed up for when you subscribed to this channel and I understand that this will mean that I'll lose you as a subscriber. That only makes sense and I appreciate your support on my previous project. While it is unfortunate to lose you, for me, focusing in on the things that really move me represents a kind of coming home and I can't ignore that. Again, I thank you for your support and I wish you all the best.

In terms of my outlook, the videos will not be released on anything like a regular schedule. With family and professional obligations along with just my own desire to explore ideas and topics without any specific goal in mind, this channel will be a firm second priority in my life going forward.

I more than just appreciate your support though. It is deeply gratifying and helps make this work just that much more special but I want to make sure that I follow threads I care about and express ideas I really believe in. I don't want to rush conclusions or analyses for the sake of getting a video out. I don't want this channel to consist of attempts to game the system or produce things I don't care for because maybe the algorithm will like it. Going forward, I want my content to always be earnest and true. As such, a video will be completed and released as soon as it's ready and I am happy with it. I think most would prefer this approach anyways.

At the end of the day, I am genuinely excited for the work to come and the ideas to explore. I can't wait to see what you all think and to grow my own understanding of topics of profound interest to me. I hope you enjoy these next steps as much as I will.

Cheers,

Today it sometimes feels like Canada is being pulled apart from all sides. I am planning a video about the centrifugal forces in Canada and maybe some solutions. What, in your opinion, is the biggest challenge facing Canadian democracy today? How would you fix it? Is there something big not making headlines to which more attention should be paid?

Do you think there are any Canadians alive today that we'll still be talking about in 100 years? If so, who?
