The British import, “The Hills of California” is a critics favorite this fall. The show is written by Tony award-winning playwright Jez Butterworth, who has been celebrated over the years for his plays “Jerusalem” and “The Ferryman”. In his new book, “Jimmy Breslin: The Man Who Told the Truth,” author Rich Esposito pens the first biography of the renowned columnist and native New Yorker. Esposito writes that Breslin “was a reporter and poet equally. He was able to get you to see and also to feel what the victims of poverty and injustice were stuck with … and he did that by putting you in the scene with them. To feel through their eyes — what was in their hearts.”

The Capitol unveiled a statue Tuesday of the “Man in Black,” making Cash the first professional musician ever to be depicted upon the 100 monuments there. The 8-foot bronze statue depicts the “Ring of Fire” and “Folsom Prison Blues” singer with slicked-back hair, his head bowed, a guitar strapped to his back and a Bible in his right hand.
