I've been seeing the massive rise of Palworld and as I've looked more into the game I just want to use this community post to get some of my thoughts out there and hear what you guys think about it.
The concept of a monster collecting game that is actually able to compete with Pokemon is really appealing to me. Gamefreak is able to continually churn out content off of name recognition rather than quality and it's resulted in the franchise rushing out games. Scarlet and Violet obviously had major performance issues and I feel like, with a few exceptions, the character dialogue and storyline felt really safe. I think the game did better in that regard than sword and shield, but minus the area zero endgame segment the average scarlet and violet conversation feels like it's between robots. Since Gamefreak doesn't have competition, they can afford to not put everything they have into making their games as good as possible.
That's where Palworld comes in, and from a perspective of someone who wants Gamefreak to go all out with their games, I'm really happy it's doing well. And with how good Palworld looks graphically, you can really see what games like Scarlet and Violet could have been.
But, in all honesty, Palworld doesn't sit right with me. It's not that they have guns in the game or that you can just kill the little creatures with actual weapons (I think that's pretty funny). It's that the studio behind Palworld (Pocketpair) seems to exclusively churn out unoriginal games that are so derivative of their originals that it feels wrong to me. For example, their upcoming game "Never Grave" is a metroidvania that is blatantly "inspired" by Hollow Knight's aesthetic. It's obvious how they're trying to sell their games - they're not original ideas, they're trying to take advantage of trends and bypass having to really be creative. And while I don't think Palworld is nearly as egregious as Never Grave, it's very clear that a good number of the pals are just slightly modified Pokemon designs. It really frustrates me that they could have chosen to come up with a few more original ideas for those pals and they chose not to - I think, purposefully chose not to so they could get more traction.
So, what's my stance on this? I'm personally not keen on supporting those business practices, so I won't be getting the game. I think it's good to see Gamefreak get some competition, but I would have like to see it come from elsewhere. Then again, I don't think any competitor would really blow up the way Palworld has because of how it's marketed as "Pokemon with guns and survival mechanics" and the controversy that's come with that.

Hello! I hope you are all doing well and enjoying your Friday night.
I'm sorry that content has been slow to come out recently especially in terms of streaming since I've been on the college grind. I will be home for a week for spring break though, so expect more activity in the discord server and some streams in the coming days!
I am also very excited to announce SOUL NEBULA, an album that I will be posting on Spotify sometime in early April. I have one more song to complete for the album which is in its recording stage, though I won't be able to finish it until I get back to my piano setup at college. All of the music for the album is already on my channel with the exception of the one I haven't finished. Hello everyone! It's been, uh, another 5 months since our last community post. Wow, I sure am active here.
I'm currently fleeing from the desolate wasteland of New Jersey for a vacation, so that means I won't be streaming for a week. I will still try to post on this channel while I'm gone with some shorts of my favorite stream highlights.

Hey! It's been a while since I've done one of these posts. Only, uh, 5 months, I guess. I should probably do these more often.
I've been working on a new music piece for a long time, and I'm really excited to show it to you all. I'll be finishing it up this weekend, and I hope to see you all for the premiere. This piece is much larger than anything I've ever written, and I felt the only way I could release it was if I played it on the piano myself. So I've been recording this piece for weeks now, and it took a while because I'm really bad at piano, but I'm very happy with how it turned out.
I'll see you tomorrow if you want to hang out during game night, and thank you so much for supporting me despite how inactive I've been. The last few months have been very busy for me, but I promise we'll get back to regular streams in a few weeks. You all are truly amazing people, and I can't thank you enough for making this journey so incredible.
Also I couldn't make this a poll because I wanted to include some pixel art of Gunter just *sitting there* but I need you all to tell me whether A or B is better. I need this to be the most unnecessarily toxic argument of all time that tears this community apart in a ruthless war. Defend your side and fight for honor and glory. Only the strong will survive.
