The day finally came that Spirit filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection.

(All info based from Flying Report on Instagram)

Spirit will undergo a restructuring process but expects their operations to continue as usual.
This restructuring process follows Spirit’s failed merger attempt with JetBlue and Frontier and ongoing financial difficulties.

The airline aims to reduce debt and improve Spirit's financial flexibility. With plans to enhance the passenger experience by introducing free Wi-Fi for Free Spirit program members, complimentary water and snacks for all passengers, and in-seat power.

They will also revamp their route network, reallocating aircraft to cities where they hold a higher market share. Additionally, they plan to increase seasonal flights and maximize "out-and-back" operations.

I found a video with N705GB (at 40:50)!! The 81 year old DC-3 I saw arrive at MIA back in June (I recently posted a short with the landing)!

After nearly 30 years since this video was taken, she still wears (relatively) the same livery and is flying strong, operating the same flights 🙌

Daron just announced the release of 2 new JetBlue models featuring their new liveries on an A320 and A321 model!

Amazing day out at Warbirds Over Monroe 2024!!!

It was today that I realized just how much I love the A-10 and now have a need to see one flying in action!

This year’s 2 main aircraft on display included the A-10 and a surprise DC-3 that flew in early this morning! Unfortunately no C-54 this year but the DC-3 definitely made up for it!

The weather turned out great despite getting sunburn from the constant sunlight all day 😂. All performances went as scheduled apart from the first JAARS jump getting cancelled due to extreme wind and Tora Tora Tora not being here.

Overall an amazing day at Monroe, definitely the best since my first time going in 2021!

Tomorrow is the first day of North Carolinas only annual Airshow “Warbirds Over Monroe!”

Looking forward to my first Airshow using my new camera setup!

I plan on staying all day Saturday from getting there early to get a good spot and waiting for the Wall of Fire to finish off the show!

For those who haven’t heard, Air Canada will be un-retiring 2 Boeing 767-300ER’s in 2025!!

Considering how depressing 2024 has been for classic aircraft retirements, this was a great surprise for aviation enthusiasts!

According to “Flying Report” on Instagram, the two 767’s returning to service are C-FOCA and C-GLCA, both of which are 33-34 years old and have been in long-term storage in Arizona since their retirement in 2020 during the pandemic.

It is currently unknown the exact month and date of when the 767s will return to service or which routes the 767s will fly.

Amazing and somewhat hectic day out at CLT yesterday to see the last ever scheduled JetBlue flight arrive and depart Charlotte!

It was great getting to spot this last ever flight with ‪@DaPlenThing‬ again and catch up with another CLT spotter! And getting to experience my first ever spotting session at the CLT parking deck at night!

Fortunately we were all able to catch the JetBlue E190 land in time, although it did arrive over 30 minutes late and was nearly completely dark. But if it did arrive on time it would’ve been raining and made the spotting process even more difficult so I guess we got the better of the 2 scenarios 😅

And unfortunately, I didn’t realize till I got home later last night that I had missed an Eastern 767 and Delta 757 arrive by only 10 minutes because I forgot to check the radar 🫠.

The JetBlue takeoff was about 20 minutes late but fortunately everyone who was there was able to see the E190s departure!

I can’t believe 18 years of service between Boston and Charlotte by JetBlue ended with just this 1 simple flight (and not even a water salute 😔)… so long JetBlue, you will be greatly missed by all CLT spotters 🫡🥲

Today is the day that JetBlue makes the final scheduled flight between Charlotte and Boston..

After 18 years of service, JetBlue will be leaving CLT due to underperformance and lack of customer demand. Which is also a result of American Airlines’s attempt completely take over CLT.

I will be there to see the landing and taxi out/ departure of the flight. This will most likely be the last ever JetBlue E190 to fly to CLT and possibly my last time seeing a JetBlue E190 💔
