Did you know that Love English recently turned 8! It is crazy that it has been 8 YEARS since we first uploaded a video to YouTube. We really didn't know what we were doing with YouTube back then, and needed to hold scripts to remember the words - LOL! I used to giggle and talk all the time, and Leila sometimes came across as a very serious teacher and I was always telling her to 'lighten up'. It takes time to find your tone as a presenter but hopefully we have got it now!
Looking back it is quite funny to see how 'green' we were back then, and how much polishing and learning we would have to do. Both of us had MAs in Media and Communications so we both did know about cameras and editing etc but it REALLY wasn't enough to know how to navigate YouTube.
Luckily we got spotted by YouTube and won a place in 2018 in the top 20 'Women to Watch' . We got to go to YouTube for a week and get trained up on lights, scripting, camera work, and lots more.
We have since then gone on to have millions of views on our channel and help 1000s of students with their English and got supported by EduCreator with exclusive business coaching- this was another big learning curb. Being a YouTuber is actually very hard work and takes a huge amount of effort and time (more than people realise), but it is a labour of love and there will be more to come.
