Arsadiwirya is an Indonesian band, formed in Wonosobo, Central Java in 2018, and currently based in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The band is known for its musical blend of ambient, post-rock and folk, underpinned with pop elements with distinctly Javanese music as Indonesian identity.
Arsadiwirya emerged in 2018 as a home-recording project by Yogha Arsadiwirya. In this period, with help from his cousin brother Wahyu Arsadiwirya in drums, he recorded and posted a number of Cover tracks Sigur Ros ‘Hoppipolla’ on YouTube.
Soon after, another cousin Ade Arsadiwirya, completing the line-up. With Wahyu Arsadiwirya and Ade Arsadiwirya they later developed the initial tracks written by Yogha Arsadiwirya and the first incarnation of the band was born. Local independent label Netrilis discovered Arsadiwirya on digital music portal in 2018 and recorded those demos the following year, which became a self titled EP album.
