Sin & Addiction Cycle BROKEN

It all starts out with brokenness and temptation. You think, "It's not that bad" or "I just want to escape the pain, trauma, betrayal, abandonment, etc." You feel bad or have an urge, so you take something you think will make you feel better (marijuana, sex, cigarettes, alcohol, pills, and/or pornography). You wake up the next day or soon after you decide to succumb to your fleshly desires feeling worse, so you seek the thing(s) that temporarily pleasure you & falsely allow an escape.

Then, you search for more & more - often more depraved than the last. Before you know it, it's years later, and you're stuck in what seems like an impossible sin-cycle.

You start believing the enemy's lie telling you that you're in too deep and too far gone. You stay stuck... until something either so traumatic happens or you have an encounter with God in another way, shape, or form that offers you your ticket out.

You start to change your mind. You want to step into your calling. You want more than the life you're currently living. The desires in your heart begin to seek first the will of the Father - the Most High God. You change your mind to seek renewal for your relationship with God and for your spirit.

That hope is found in Jesus Christ. He was born of a virgin, lived a perfect and sinless life, performed miracles as the Son of God, died on the cross, conquered sin and death, rose from the grave 3 days later, ascended to Our Father in heaven, came back and emparted His Holy Spirit to His disciples and to all of His followers who are born again and believe in Him in faith... that incudes you! He is seated at the right hand of the Father in His kingdom and will return.

No longer are you a slave to sin. Instead, you realize the victorious power that lives within you. You fully submit to God, resist the devil, flee from immorality, heal, and break the chains of bondage. You diligently apply God's word to your life. You pray, fast, worship, praise, fellowship, study, help others in compassion, and live according to His will.

Not only is this maintaining your repentance and deliverance, but it is also key to your purpose here on earth. You are made for such a time as this. You are made for more than these fleeting, temporal pleasures that separate you from God. You are stepping into the blessings of faith. You are helping other bretheren overcome.

Addicts are worshippers. You are to worship the One True King and not the things of this world. You have already overcome in the name of Jesus.

Isaiah 61:1 NKJV
[1] β€œThe Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;

Luke 4:18 NKJV
[18] β€œThe Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed;

Your identity is not in sin. Your identity is in Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
