Coming shortly a Futurama 2 early 1964 one owner guitar. Definitely worth looking out for these they will only ever appreciate in value. This one has a great 'Scottish' history which I will tell you as I bring it back to life.
I have just been told that I have reached 1,000 subscribers. That is really weird because I was happy at about 250 and wondered why anyone would watch me fixing guitars but, hey ho. Thank you all for subscribing...
The problem I have now is adverts because my channel is monetised. I just spent the last hour trying to switch them off... LOL... Hopefully they are NOT too intrusive but every penny will help me buy stuff to fix more guitars and that helps Assisi Animal Sanctuary.
I tend to speed up the boring bits... and there can be a lot of those when working on guitars. I usually just let the speech speed up too and turn it down a bit. I often try not to speak during the boring bits but I live in Northern Ireland where we talk a lot. :-) Some people add music... but I tend not to like that as my music taste would not be to everyone's taste.... any thoughts on the matter? Music or not? Leave a comment if you wish...
(There is another reason why I speed up: I have very slow broadband and the bigger the videos the slower the upload. The recent one I did at an hour-long took 3 hours to upload.)
Just a sample of some of the nutty stuff I am making videos about.... to me they are all fascinating... and yes, there will be the usual fender, Gibson and Gretsch stuff, mostly boring but these little things are more interesting to me...
Since the beginning of my time on YouTube... the average viewing time of my videos is 5 minutes. I am not sure what I should make of that? Perhaps people come on for a few minutes and if it is not to their taste move on, whilst others stay for more time.
My last video was almost 1 hour long, which I think is too long for people. So, I am tempted to shorten my videos down to 25/30 minutes. What do you think?
I am the charity Luthier - I fix guitar, banjos and ukes, etc... I don't charge (except for parts) but I ask clients to donate to my favourite animal charity Assisi Animal Shelter in Bangor County Down. I don't ask my clients to donate a particular amount and I don't ask them to donate in my name; I leave the choice to them AFTER they get their guitar back. (Yes, it's called trust.)
By the way, you can donate too... it's simple.

After trying to play guitar, for 50 years, and discovering that I repair them better than I play them... here I am. This ain't for money... No such thing as a rich man who repairs guitars... I just love guitars. The image is of 'my baby'... a Gretsch... it looks mighty purty.
