About
With music described as âdreamlikeâ (Boston Globe) and âdelightfully cruelâ (Operawire), NYC-based Felix Jarrar is a composer and pianist whose âmusic flows from him in the most natural and lively way.â (Tom Cipullo). His works are praised as âexperimental and beautifully composedâ (Broadway World) with âlush and memorable melodiesâ (Operawire). Heâs performed at venues such as Symphony Space, (le) poisson rouge, Feinstein's/54 below, the BAM! Fisher Hillman Studio, Roulette Intermedium, and Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall. His works are performed internationally by artists from the Metropolitan Opera, The New England Repertory Orchestra, the Atlantic Music Festival Orchestra, the duo Unassisted Fold, and Spark Duo. Amongst his approximately 230 works, heâs written over 200 art songs, 13 operas, 2 string quartets, 2 cantatas, and a symphony. He completed his Bachelor of Arts at Marlboro College and his Masterâs of Music degree at Brooklyn College.
