I announce with great pleasure that Disney has finally started dubbing their classic films in yet another Indian language - KANNADA.
So far, we have had four films dubbed for television premiere - The Lion King (2019), Zootopia, The Jungle Book (2016), and Pixar's The Good Dinosaur.

A good news for Disney fans, especially Malayali Disney fans.
First is of course, the fact that Turning Red is the FIRST Malayalam dubbed Disney animated film officially!
And second, voice-actresses Natasha Chungath and Nimmi Harshan, who both voiced the lead character Meilin Lee in Hindi and Malayalam respectively, are BOTH Malayalis!
So for my Malayali friends who know both languages, it's double the representation for you all. ^_^

With my Malayali friend @ElsasIceWorld, I (admin R) collaborated on this cover of "Waiting On A Miracle" in Malayalam language, in which I provided the vocals for Mirabel. I don't know Malayalam myself, and I am not even a girl (lol)...but with whatever power vested in me and my vocal cords, I tried my best to give this beautiful song justice. First it was Lata Ji, now it's our beloved Bappi Da, 2022 has already started on a tragic note.
Legendary Bollywood music producer, credited for bringing the Disco Sound to Indian film music, Bappi Lahiri breathed his last today. He was also the voice of the quirky crab Tamatoa in Disney's Moana.
May he rest in peace.

Not a Disney-related post, but one about a very important personality of India who has breathed her last today. A guiness world record holder, who has sung in a number of languages and put India's film music on the map for 6 continuous decades, the "Nightingale voiced maiden", as she is fondly called...Ms. Lata Mangeshkar has departed for heaven at the age of 92.
A simple but special video related to her might appear on this channel soon, depending on youtube's copyright policy.
