Stuck for some seed sowing inspiration? Take a look at our guide on what flowers can be sown in October which includes sweet peas, cornflowers, poppies and love-in-a-mist.
Many other hardy annuals can also be sown such pot marigolds and corncockle, If you also want to enjoy fresh herbs throughout the rest of autumn and winter, you can also try parsley, chives and coriander.

Happy September! We like to think of September as a month that gently eases us into Autumn, with slightly cooler morning and nights but still the chance of warm sunny days.
If you're wondering what to do at this time of year, take a look at our video on gardening jobs to do in September. This was filmed last year so for new subscribers, you'll also get to see how the garden looked before the changes we're made this year.

The summer months can be a busy time in the garden and sometimes it's difficult to focus on what needs to to be done as there is so much! Last year we filmed a series of 'what to do now' videos beginning in July and running through each month up to November. These can all be found in the playlist titled 'Monthly Gardening Jobs'.
Please check them out and let us know if you found them useful. At the time they were published some of them didn't really do very well in terms of views, but hopefully many who did watch them at the time, found them helpful.
Here is a link to the July episode, please let us know what you think.

We were delighted to see this little chap in the garden having a drink and a wonder around. We have lots of areas for Hedgehogs to make a home for the winter at the back of the garden where things are left overgrown and protected.
Around late October, they will be looking for a place to hibernate for the winter and if you want to encourage them to choose your garden, take a look at this video from the RHS about what we can do to help provide a safe home for them. https://youtu.be/R9LzXCebvwM?si=ZbmXN...
There is also some great advice provided from the British Hedgehog Preservation Society on how to build a Hedgehog home www.britishhedgehogs.org.uk/hedgehog-homes/
Not only are these garden visitors beautiful and fascinating, they also do great work at keeping slug numbers down too!

Welcome to our channel. We are literally mad about gardening and plants, particularly hardy perennials. We have a keen interest in naturalistic planting and plant propagation. We are against using chemicals and try to make our space as biodiverse as possible. Our passion comes from a genuine love of plants that we've had since childhood.
Join us in our UK Cheshire garden, where we'll be sharing our tips, successes and failures. With many years experience, both professionally and through our own gardens, we hope to share our love of plants with as many people as possible.
Over the years we have had many wonderful opportunities including creating some stunning planting schemes for our clients, planting show gardens at RHS Chatsworth and Tatton Flower Shows, volunteering at RHS Bridgewater Garden and meeting many knowledgeable plants people and garden designers.
