Ayooo, just wanted to give a quick update on my projects and where I’m at lately.
After New Year’s, I was working on an ambient project in After Effects when my video drive and my music projects drive completely corrupted. I spent almost two weeks troubleshooting, searching for solutions online, but nothing worked.
Eventually, I had to come to terms with the fact that everything was lost. As I wiped my hard drives, I felt this huge weight lift off of me, like the universe was telling me to start fresh.
To everyone I owed projects to, I’m truly sorry, but they’re gone for good. Even my external backup files were shot. Thankfully, I still have a bunch of racks, samples, and plugins saved to my cloud.
Lately, I’ve been diving deep into ambient music, especially with how hectic life has been over the past seven months. I have been finding more moments of peace, and ambient has been a big part of that. Over the spring, I’ll be exploring this more and sharing new work.
For those following my Subtle Radio show, I have been on hiatus since December. I don’t plan on returning anytime soon, but if I do, it will be around late summer or early fall.
As for my YouTube channel, I will still be posting sets. Unfortunately, I lost all my lockdown set videos, which were slowly being uploaded as a playlist. Luckily, I still have most of the audio, just not the visuals.
Moving forward, my production focus outside of ambient and downtempo will be on DJ edits and heavy sampling. The joy I get from playing music far outweighs what production gives me, so that is where my energy is going in the coming months.
