ā€œGrades wonā€™t matter in 10 years.ā€

Then why are you trying so hard? šŸ˜©

Because what matters is HOW you get those grades.

Here are 3 habits that helped me earn a 4.0 GPA in chemical engineering, play varsity basketball, and have an amazing time at Caltech ā€” habits I still rely on today to live my best life with the ones I love while keeping up with the demands of spending countless hours each week on a single YouTube video:

1. Use inspiration as momentum šŸ’”

a. School: If I was pumped up to do the math homework thatā€™s due in a week, I would do it even before my other more pressing assignments (given that the others arenā€™t due like tomorrow) to be more efficient and happier doing it.

b. YouTube: During a workout session on September 4, I was thinking about how to help students see the truth behind getting straight Aā€™s, and I got so pumped up by my thoughts that I filmed the video about it immediately after coming back from the gym.

2. Master Tetris šŸ§©

a. School: Relating to the above, Iā€™d be flexible in shifting my tasks around to adapt to my mood and what work Iā€™m feeling inspired to do in that moment. We canā€™t always act according to how we feel, but mastering Tetris in my to-do list and calendar allows for spontaneity like getting boba with my college friends at 11 pm.

b. YouTube: I play around with my upload schedule often - just switching around the order of when different ideas go live. I finalized and scheduled the video I filmed on Sep 4 for upload nearly 3 months after I filmed it, to go live on November 30 so I can enjoy Thanksgiving weekend without stress.

3. Parallel-process šŸ”„

a. School: Whenever something depends on someone else, like asking a teacher a question or group projects, Iā€™d make sure to send out that email or do my part of the project ASAP, putting the ball in their court such that I can work on other things in parallel.

b. YouTube: I batch-film videos ahead of time and have amazing editors (<3) help me while Iā€™m working on new videos. This allows for flexibility and things to always be progressing.

This was a bit of a longer community post that I realize now couldā€™ve been a YouTube video all on its own, but I just thought it was so essential to understand what youā€™re really working for. You pursue good grades for yourself and the best version of yourself so you can succeed far beyond school. Most of all, your habits help you live your best, most fulfilling life.

Remember WHO youā€™re fighting for, not 'what' šŸ§”, Amy

You're putting in the work, but I know itā€™s tough when the results arenā€™t coming as quickly as youā€™d like.

Maybe itā€™s not about working harder but rethinking your approach. In my newsletters, I aim to share simple truths and mind-shaping insights ā€”you might be missing just one shift to see a transformation. āœØ For example...

We all love chasing the next shiny "hack." But hereā€™s the thing:

In searching for "secrets," we overlook what really moves the needle. Hacks can help, but real progress comes from mastering a few things and repeating them. šŸ”

As part of the A-Team, you know that excellence comes from repetition. Instead of bouncing from one hack to the next, focus on a single practice you believe in, and stick with it.

If even 1-2 tips from my videos resonate, try them consistently for a month and watch the difference. Keep reviewing, refining, and improving. šŸ’Æ

"I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times." ~Bruce Lee šŸ„‹

This is an excerpt from my FREE newsletter, where I dive deeper into tips and inspiration outside of my videos. Sign up with the link in the pinned comment below! šŸ“

Stuck in a cycle of bad habits? Hereā€™s a way out...

When youā€™re procrastinating or taking a break, is your first instinct to grab your phone? Itā€™s easy, but then it leaves you feeling worse. Youā€™re stuck in this loop of letting yourself down, which only drains your motivation even more. We get so wrapped up in our screensā€”itā€™s like an obsession.

But what if we became obsessed with something better? Something that actually lifts us up?

What if we were so into taking care of ourselves that, every time we took a break, we chose something that made us feel good? Imagine picking up a healthy snack, doing a quick stretch, or even just taking a second to breathe and ask, How can I make things easier on myself right now?

The key here is self-love. Put yourself first, and coach yourself like youā€™d coach a friend. Give yourself those little nudges to do things that actually take care of youā€”whether itā€™s stretching, meditating, or just doing something small to feel better.

These arenā€™t chores or obligations. Think of them as little gifts to yourself, because you deserve them.

Love yourself. Youā€™re worth it. šŸ§”šŸ§”šŸ§”

Hi! This is regarding the plagiarizing drama, as many of you asked for a response - if you donā€™t care, no need to read!

If you've watched Jspark's response video, I am sorry to say you've been lied to. Further, he didn't even address the main point of the plagiarism incident: *word for word* in too many instances where it's astronomically improbable for it to be a coincidence. Not to mention that since my video came out, many viewers commented that they previously independently noticed him copying other creators too.

I truly didn't expect this to drag on, as I was just standing up for myself. My friends and I thought the plagiarism was obvious (and since then, not only viewers, but multiple other Study YouTubers have come forward thanking me and agreeing they noticed the copying before I posted my video). The side by side of our two videos needed no explanation, and that straightforwardness is a clear indicator of truth.

Thanks to those who act in alignment with their values and aim to be reasonable people who take into account all real evidence. His video includes lies and multiple contradictions that you can see with all existing information, but if you'd like them to be laid out, this document will help clear things up (includes the truth about his "evidence", flow vs paraphrasing/copying, how he used my permission for the first guest lecture as "proof" of permission for the second call recording, etc.): docs.google.com/document/d/1aRRXysvfEYnXm0EZdgyuQqā€¦

First of all, I am a total overthinker (maybe you can tell from my content) who wants to stay on everyoneā€™s good side. I grew up as a people pleaser who wants to help everyone and thatā€™s why I try to help people on the internet now and even smaller creators as I showed where I had no personal gain. I hate drama and I know it looks like Iā€™m defending myself weirdly if I did nothing wrong but I am honestly shook by the new perceptions because it took some true guts to post the first video. I was hesitant to make it at first but I was encouraged by other creators in our niche (ones who have also been copied) that this is a chance to take a stand in our community. I had multiple people and creators review the video for me and I took all of their advice. I was told to not include the whole chat because the side by side comparison spoke for itself. Not to mention that all creators Iā€™ve talked to say the plagiarism is blatant, "painfully obvious" as said by a StudyTuber I guarantee every single person who watches study videos knows.

The pinned comment below can help as well. The comment and the linked document above explain why there were edits to this post. What I said before still stands. I stand by every single thing I've said; just that I understand now why some people canā€™t be on the same wavelength no matter what I or reason says.

I treated Jspark as an equal, helping him multiple times with absolutely no personal gain other than my happiness at making a new friend within the study niche. I couldā€™ve ignored him as my other StudyTubers friends did, because of actions they called sketchy and his age. I see now it was my foolishness to stubbornly believe the good in others and because itā€™s clear now age is a free pass to take advantage of a grown adultā€™s naivety and his audienceā€™s lack of content creation experience.

I believe that everyone should act with the right values, especially if they are able to influence and sell to thousands of young students. Whether you believe that or not affects the state of our society.

Iā€™m not asking you to have bias toward me. Please donā€™t. Iā€™m just asking that you understand how hard it was to post it in the first place for someone like me and how I had a lot more to lose than gain. Perhaps I couldā€™ve made a community post instead asking for my viewers to help look for copying / my face in ads (I already tried asking Jspark multiple times privately as shown in my og video šŸ„²) but I took the time and effort to try making a more comprehensive video, even though it was reliving that terrible day when yes, I had a migraine. I didnā€™t include that for sympathy but itā€™s where the day truly started. I wish I donā€™t get migraines as frequently as I do.

For those who followed me through the years, you know I donā€™t care about quick wins or boosted views. I turned down hundreds of partnerships and other opportunities. I admit, I was sad to know that this could change in an instant where trying to take a stand for what I believe is right could be twisted like this. I see now that since Iā€™m older and have more followers, that this could be a sole reason my words donā€™t have as much weight despite every piece of hard evidence presented and each bit of trying to do the right thing for over 3 years online. Thank you so much for reading this far if you have. I am older but I have mental health too. The internet is a scary place and I knew that this is what I sign up for when I try to help thousands of strangers online, which inevitably means I put myself at risk everyday just because I believe in something bigger than myself, helping students reach their potential with integrity. But I wouldnā€™t choose otherwise because Iā€™m so grateful for the lovely community we have built together šŸ§”

Thank you for being discerning and reasonable. Iā€™m sorry this situation had to drag longer than expected!

Hey you! Scrolling? This is your sign to take a break and consume a little bit of wisdom ā¬‡ļø

Last night, I went to the most epic concert I've ever experienced. You'll probably never guess what it was, but it was even more amazing than Taylor Swift's Eras Tour.

It was Avatar: The Last Airbender In Concert, a live orchestral rendition of the seriesā€™ iconic soundtrack.

For those who don't know about the original Nickelodeon show, it's truly a masterpiece of storytelling, world building, and character development. It's anything but a kid's show. I've watched it 3 times.

Amidst the orchestra's rich music and an ocean of people who equally adored the show (the crowd was the most hype I've ever seen - the whole room was on the same wavelength, laughing, crying, whooping together), it was more than just good vibes.

I was carried away from my stresses and troubles, truly being present and basking in the moment of something bigger than myself. I think I felt all the emotions a human can feel.

This. This is content we should be consuming.

Maybe not this show or its soundtrack in concert specifically, but what I mean is to consume art that makes you feel something, stories that uplift you and bring people together.

In those two hours that seemed like a lifetime, I felt extremely grateful that this show exists.

How many things do you consume each day where you're grateful they exist? How many leave a lasting impression on you? Do short TikToks actually bore you but somehow they help you make the time pass? Perhaps making time pass isn't a good enough reason to consume something.

I encourage you to consider what higher-value content you could be consuming. Instead of the subconscious guilt you may feel while scrolling, you'll feel true relief from your worries.

ā€œIn the darkest times, hope is something you give yourself. That is the meaning of inner strength.ā€
ā€• Uncle Iroh šŸµ

P.S. Maybe I sound like a huge nerd for feeling the show so deeply and writing a dramatic post about it, but you know what, love what you love unapologetically. I may be a nerd but I was a darn happy nerd last night around with my fellow nerd friends šŸ™‚ and that makes us pretty cool - cool nerds you might say šŸ˜‰ #iykyk

This could be one of the most important posts you ever stumble upon.

Why? Because while I know it seems like the weight of the world is on your shoulders when you're a student buried in your textbooks, there are bigger things that matter.

Top regrets people have at the end of their life:

1. Not having the courage to live a life true to yourself
2. Not spending enough time with their loved ones
3. Not letting themselves be happier

And the single biggest regret people have?

Not doing something. Not becoming the painter they knew they had the talent for, not studying when they had the chance when they were younger, not reaching out to that friend.

More people regret things they *didn't do in life* than the things they did do.

Laziness is a privilege. But your privilege could make you regret more than you could ever imagine. Because laziness inherently means that you're *not* doing something that could be fulfilling your potential.

To learn how to *stop being lazy NOW*, check out my latest video, linked in the pinned comment! GET YOUR FIRE BACK šŸ”„

Procrastinating? Are you avoiding the input, whether it be effort, time, or money invested?

If you don't pay for it now, you'll pay for it later.

Like many of you, I don't come from wealth. Being a first-generation Asian American of immigrant parents, my family did not have the resources or connections, not even being able to help me with things like college applications. Thus, I have to put in work and do *something* valuable so I can survive as an adult, let alone thrive. In other words, we have to "pay our dues."

If you're a student, now is the time to pay your dues by studying. If you're a college student or young professional, now is the time to pay your dues by acquiring skills that will be an asset to some type of job so you can contribute to society.

This is the way the world works - like you, I would love to watch my favorite show (Avatar the Last Airbender) over and over again or enjoy my hobbies, but I don't have the luxury to do that 24/7 if I am to support myself and a future family. Not to mention, I want to be able to give back my parents who gave so much to me; I'm grateful for them and want to do justice to the privilege I do have.

If you don't study now, you'll pay for it later with a poor grade.

If you procrastinate your work, you'll pay for it later with more stress and falling behind.

If you don't stop to think about where you're putting your time right now, you'll pay for it later when you have more responsibilities and even less time.

If you don't invest your money in an educational resource or mentor instead of buying the coolest new clothing trends (like the bubble skirt which I personally really don't like), you'll pay for it later by being less knowledgeable or skilled.

What are other examples you can think of?

I truly wish the best for your life because I know you have the potential, so I hope this message resonated with you in some way! šŸ§”

Pay for it now or pay for it later. Usually one option is more painful. Choose wisely.

Myth: breaks are unproductive.

When done right, breaks are one of the most productive things you can do because it helps you *sharpen the saw*! My past videos discussed this concept - itā€™s where a restful and deserved break can recharge you and make you work even more efficiently later.

At home, I loved taking breaks by going on a walk with my family or playing with my Shiba, Roxy šŸ’– Whatā€™s your favorite way of taking a break? šŸ¤”

P.S. Speaking of breaks to recharge, no video this week because Iā€™m busy playing with Shiba Inus in Japan! See you next week, A-Team šŸ§”, Amy
