Quick update on my latest video on E3D's Revo Roto extruder: In my tests I compared it to other, less-geared-down extruders and it showed poor performance when pushed to faster extrusion speeds with a 0.6mm high-flow nozzle. E3D have reached out and I'm working with them to figure out why my results differ from their pre-release testing, which showed no issues with higher speeds.
The preliminary assumption is that the Trinamic driver I used does not allow for the higher step rate the Revo Roto requires at faster feed rates, at least when used with its default StealtChop2 drive mode, and it might perform better when switched to the noisier, but more versatile SpreadCycle drive mode. I used a TMC2208, which comes with StealthChop2, but I assume other Trinamic drivers using StealthChop as well as "clone" drivers in their silent mode would behave similarly.
The driver I used was salvaged from a used printer, so I would think it's common for them to run in their factory-default StealthChop2 in many of the machines out there. Switching drive modes is somewhat involved on the TMC2208, though, and may actually be near impossible in many cases on printers that have soldered-on drivers or don't run user-modifiable firmware. Non-Trinamic "silent" drivers may not offer the option to switch drive modes at all or lack the documentation to do so.
I'll continue to look into this issue, so my question for you right now is this: If you have a printer where the Revo Roto would be an upgrade option:
a) Do you know which drivers it uses, if so, which ones are they?
b) Do you know which drive mode they're in (StealthChop / silent or SpreadCycle / standard)?
c) Would you know how to switch them to the SpreadCycle (or a standard) drive mode?
d) Are you able to adjust the motor current for the extruder driver?

Okay, looks like my channel has finally become the target of the usual scamming scheme that's happening here on YouTube, where literally hundreds of comments are posted under my videos within seconds of each other, and for which I now have no way to efficiently remove them.

Just a reminder:
- This isn't me posting these comments. This is a bot that stole my profile picture.
- Don't send random accounts personal information via WhatsApp.
- Whatever you do, do not send this account money for "shipping" or "imports" or whatever.
- If you do, that's on you. Don't blame me for getting scammed.

I'm doing my best at removing these scam comments, but YouTube isn't exactly helpful here. It actually looks like I'll have to program a tool myself that can handle removing these comments and banning the accounts that posted them.
