June is here! Which means that (unless you live someplace where it stays a little cool until July) it's HOT! That means it's the perfect time to start making those sunhats if you haven't already. I know...sewing takes time. But that's why I stick with easy sewing patterns...like my beloved Bohemian Sunhat. It's versatile, 2-sided and just...FUN! What's your favorite sunhat?

Let's talk about mistakes while #sewing...
I am an experienced sewer. I've been sewing 14 years. This is a mistake I made just about a month ago while installing a v-neck neckband into a dress I was making. I didn't pin this part down so it wasn't stitched into the whole neckband. Talk about feeling silly!
Why am I sharing this with you? Because if you are a beginner or even if you're further along on your sewing journey, mistakes can make you feel silly. And if you don't shake that off, you'll let that keep you from continuing and growing as a sewist. Don't let that happen. Any mistake you make can be corrected or you can create a re-do. Just keep going and finish!

The way #shebamarieruel looked right at the camera when I asked her to sit down 🤣🤣🤣 This dog has been studying my every move since I brought her home at 6 weeks. When I started sewing again (which was the first time she'd ever seen me do it) she had to be a part...and she still is.
