Had a blast at last weekend's shoeing competition. A fellow from Canada won the Open division, I won the Intermediate, and a local farrier won the Novice. They gave out plaques to the winners of each event and buckles for winning your division. The boys are pretty proud of Dad's "trophy"! Competing was fun. I'll probably have to do it again. Although, now that I won the intermediate division, the next time I'll have to compete in the big leagues with the open guys. If you are at any level of horseshoeing I highly recommend going to this competition next year. You'll learn a ton from other farriers and build comradery with a bunch of cool people.

It's official! We are finally done with vet school and are on to the next adventure. We moved up to Deer Park, Washington and I am working as a mixed animal veterinarian at Deer Park Veterinary Clinic. So if you live in the area, bring your animals by and come see us. I apologize for being a little silent on here and instagram. It has been a crazy ride graduating vet school, moving, finding a place to live, starting a job, learning how to be a vet, and on top of that, we added a trip down to Arizona to see family. This horse was starting to develop a little bit of white line disease. So I dug out the areas and packed them with copper sulfate crystals topped with packing that normally goes under pads. Then put the shoe on which will hold the medication in there for 6 weeks. I myself am interested to see if it will work. :) Stay tuned and I'll keep you updated! #experiment #hopeitworks #ihavefaith
