And yet another year is coming to an end. Time truly flies.
I admit, 2024 was very chaotic for me and unfortunately not as productive in terms of YouTube video production as I had initially imagined. That was due to a lot of "side quests", if you want to call them that. 😅
But I can't say that this year wasn't filled with some positive surprises and I was able to acquire new knowledge on several fronts. I also managed to build my own NAS this year. I had never dealt with that particular topic before.
So it was a personal highlight for me, and I thank the person (you're probably reading this right now), who made it possible.
Although, as I said, I was rather unproductive on YouTube, I really appreciate your great support. Be it in the form of views, likes and/or comments. I am very grateful for that. 😊
I am also grateful to the silent heroes, who don't wear capes, for placing orders using my Amazon affiliate links and for sitting through one or the other advertisement on my videos. ❤️
Everyone obviously helps and supports in their own way and I actually find that very fascinating. Again and again.
All that support doesn't go unnoticed by me and it enables me to carry on and pay bills.
At this point I therefore hope, that 2024 was a good, successful year for most of you. Of course, there surely were ups and down for many of us. Sometimes sadness and worry are here to plague us, other times there's joy. Life can be beautiful, but in the next blink of an eye, just as hard...
I wish you and your loved ones a relaxed, merry Christmas and a great New Year 2025, filled with huge successes, the best of health and... peace (even in the smaller things)! 🎆❤️
Some celebrate with family or friends. Others alone. I wish each and every one of you, even those who don't like me, a happy holiday season. Here's to a good, successful 2025 for all of us! 🥂🙌
What are you personally looking forward to? What are your resolutions or plans for 2025, if you have any?
I'm personally looking forward to the upgrade of my "Workstation" PC, which I use to produce all my videos. The upgrade has been planned for like a year now and has been delayed many times.
My current system makes use of the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3960X, sporting 24 cores, but one can tell that the CPU is slowly, but surely aging when comparing it against CPUs such as Ryzen 7000 of my test system. The power consumption could also be a little lower. My 3960X is no longer fully up-to-date when taking power efficiency into account. 😅
My order, which includes the Ryzen 9 9950X (for testing and possibly for the upgrade) arrived just before the holidays. This means I will be able to carry out CPU tests for myself again and, when the budget allows for it, I will order the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K, the living legend Ryzen 7 9800X3D and hopefully the Ryzen 9 9950X3D for comparisons.
It is still up in the air whether or not I will be able to do any of that or to what extent. I will most likely have to sell a CPU or two in-between.
I had planned to get the 9950X or 9950X3D for my "workstation" upgrade. It depends on which CPU delivers the better performance in productive workloads along with the overall better power efficiency.
My long-delayed NAS project is fortunately complete now, though. This month I finally ordered two cheaper Seagate 12TB NAS HDDs (recertified and resealed by Seagate). One goes into the NAS, while the other serves as a manual backup drive.
Yes, being the caveman I am, I prefer doing manual backups using synchronization software. 😆
Anyone who has read this incredibly dry, boring novel of mine to the very end deserves RESPECT for their good attention span. 💪🧠
Sincerely,
Nicolas

Another year is coming to an end. There of course were ups and downs.
I admit that I haven't necessarily achieved all of my goals I had set for 2023, but I look forward to the new year 2024 will full confidence. 🎆
As so often, I would like to thank you all for your great support. I didn't always upload the most interesting videos this year, and yet there were always some of you who still watched and commeneted with enthusiasm.
I am very grateful for that! ❤️
With this in mind, I wish you, your families and friends a merry Christmas, happy holidays and a perfect start into the new year 2024 with the best of health and great success!
No matter whether you celebrate alone or with family or friends. 🎆❤️
With warmest regards,
Nicolas

A new video is coming up in a few minutes!
I've put a lot of effort into it and it has taken me quite a while.
Hope it shows and is worth it! 😅
