Iāve picked her name: itās Nova! Thanks to several commenters who suggested the idea! But I also want to thank every single person that left a comment ! There were so many great name ideas that it was honestly really hard choosing one! Yāall are not only super helpful but also SUPER CREATIVE!!! I especially loved the backstories and reasoning you had for your name suggestions! Anyway Iām also including some geeky behind the scenes information in this post just in case itās helpful (Timelapse of the sketching phase available on Insta). And if youāre curious about my inspiration and references you can check out my Pinterest account where you fill find most of the art I get inspired by. Iām still learning so Iām still heavily leaning on kit bashing and remixing bits and pieces of inspiration from all over the place including photos and art referencesāanything that will help me bring the vision in my mind to lifeābut the long term goal is to slowly lean less and less on reference and develop my own styleābut that will only come with time and continuing to do this type of exercise over and over again (not that using reference is bad mind you! But I am looking forward to discovering my own unique style eventually). But honestly I can already feel myself getting more confident even though Iām far from being a natural at this! It takes me forever to make these! But Iām having so much fun learning and growingā¦and isnāt that really what a big part of having a personal art practice is all about? Speaking of which Iām almost done with my next character so stay tuuuuned!

Itās my first LONG video in forever! I needed a break from shorts and it took me 6 weeks to make, but I think all the blood, sweat, and tears were worth it in the end! Iām really happy with how it turned out and I hope you are entertained, inspired and educated by it!

Hey yāall! šš½ Sorry Iāve been M.I.A for the last 6 weeks! I was getting a little bored of making shorts and needed to change things up so I decided to make a long form YouTube video! BUT itās been taking FOREEEEVERābecause Iām a friggin hopeless perfectionist! But the good news is Iāve just about finished it. Its so weird. This week, out of the blue, I had the urge to watch the original Dragon Ball series while falling asleepāafter having not thought about it for years! After a few nights of doing this I just woke up to the news that Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball, just passed away at the age of 68! R.I.P Akira Toriyama. You were one of my favorite artists and a legend! š
Sometimes I like to turn my left brain off and work quickly, loosely, and intuitively. This is one of those results! Not gonna lie, I kinda dig how it turned out! BUT part of me wouldnāt be surprised if people thought it was trash lol š
