This film is about the silent village in the silenced region of Jammu and Kashmir. Set in the secluded Himalayan village of Dhadkai, our film tells a story of hope, anxiety, and traditions. In a community where many canât hear or speak, we follow Misra Khatoon and Mohammad Iqbal, a young couple awaiting the birth of their child. As the village gathers to welcome the newborn with a unique ritual, we witness a poignant moment that could determine the childâs future.
The competition results are based on audience voting. You can watch, rate, and vote for our film with other beautiful films in the competition on @dafilms_com until October 24th. Your support means the world to us! Please spread the word.

The Public Service Broadcasting Trust, a not-for-profit, nurtured and supported the production of independent documentary films, for over twenty years, mentoring 500+ mostly young, starting out talents. Rajiv Mehrotra, its founding Managing Trustee and Commissioning Editor, with a small team, produced over 700 documentary films travelling to over 1960 film festivals worldwide, winning more than 345 Awards, including 54 National Film Awards from the President of India - despite modest budgets that averaged US$ 5000 per half-hour film. PSBT was led by some of India's iconic film personalities - Adoor Gopalakrishnan, Mrinal Sen, Shyam Benegal and Sharmila Tagore, with Fali Nariman and Kiran Karnik. It played a seminal role in empowering the documentary film movement in India.
