In addition, the Embassy seeks Nepal’s support on global issues such as counter-terrorism, peacekeeping, narcotics control, protection for the environment, and prevention of AIDS and other communicable diseases. USAID-Nepal contributes more than $80 million each year to the country's development, and other Embassy and State Department programs encourage mutual understanding between the United States and Nepal.
