Was Spotify for Artists down for you today (June 12th) at all? Seems there is a massive internet outage and Spotify for Artists is part of it!

Do you use Content ID to claim royalties on YouTube and/or other platforms like IG/FB?

In case you haven't heard of it, Content ID is what's used to collect royalties if someone uses your song in a YouTube video or on social media sites. It automatically detects when your audio file is used.

Music artists have been asking me more about Bandcamp lately, so i'm wondering how YOU have performed on the platform.

Look at these awesome music Facebook / Instagram ad campaigns I launched this month. Not only did this artist's first Spotify / streaming growth campaign hit $0.15 per conversion, their second one hit $0.17 per conversion (using a different song from their other band). This is with a brand new ad account and Meta pixel.

On top of that, we're running a CD / Vinyl sales funnel campaign that's off to a great start. It has a ROAS of 0.83 (so it's currently losing money) but this will only improve as we keep optimizing the campaign. I expect this to be profitable over time.

Here's a cool stat:
On the sales page we have a bump offer that's asks "Do you want to pay $5 more to support the artist?". They don't get anything in return for this, it's basically a tip. Over 30% of fans chose to pay $5 more because they want to support the artist. This is a beautiful thing about selling physical music - these fans go out of their way to compensate artists they enjoy for their work in a world where all music is free online.
