Hey Thrills fans and supporters, today I must share something important.
This will never be a political channel, but given this issue is very important to me, I must share it. This issue transcends politics. The following is my opinion alone and not of any artists or brands weâve worked with. If people donât want to work with us because of this post, thatâs the cost of truth.
In Canada, we have a media conglomerate of a few companies that run the show. They all happen to be funded by the federal government which has increased their funding several hundred percent since Trudeau came in. They rarely run truthful negative pieces about the incumbent government as a result.
Canada has some of the strictest medical mandates despite a 95% inoculation rate in some areas. You cannot do much in this country without the shot: a one-size-fits-all medical treatment is mandated to the general population for practically every public activity. Despite being the second largest country in the world (as big as Europe), you cannot get on a plane or train without presenting a QR code.
Large groups of protesters have come out in as many as 20 Canadian cities in the last week. 150,000 donations made their way to several causes. Our prime minister called these large groups of people a âsmall fringe minority with unacceptable viewsâ; citing the small percentage of people not complying with the mandates. What the PM doesnât want to admit is that a lot of people were coerced into complying, which is why theyâre angryâthey donât want the government to own their bodies. They had to choose between not getting it or not being able to put food on the table for their families.
The news media is running major hit pieces on the protesters, so much so that people took signs clarifying that they are not âracistâ, âmisogynistâ or whatever other words Trudeau wishes to call them that day. Civilian journalists directly on the ground, some of which I met personally during my time in University, tell a different story than the media.
Today, I attended the gathering for 6 hours. All I saw was love from everyone across the board: all smiles and laughter, a dance party, and lots of honking. The narrative of hateful rhetoric and whatever other clever words are used, are just a façadeâpeople are there because they are angry with the government not listening. With the lowest ever support of a Prime Minister ever (18% of all eligible voters), instead of trying to unite the country, heâs doubling down on his government overreach.
Thus, I feel obligated to use my platform to share the truth. The media in Canada is lying. The Prime Minister is lying. This is the truth, told directly through my phone camera.
