Hi -- I uploaded a video earlier today on inflation...but I didn't love how it appeared on YouTube. The graph was only coming up really small as I was annotating it on screen. It was not easy to follow.

I'm going to fix it and repost later. Cheers for your patience.

The Five Sector Model/Circular Flow of Income is a very important concept in Economics. It's also among my most popular videos. BUT: the model's got problems.

For me, the model's got three problems -- one general and two specific. You can read about it here:
mrsymonds.com/blog/the-circular-flow-of-income-problems-with-the-model

These might have been issues you've been thinking of too. It's still a useful model...but it's not perfect.

So I'm thinking of writing an explainer for a section of the Eco syllabus. It's like a trial to see how it goes in writing about specific areas of content for students. Which one of these would you must like to see?

It's the night before the HSC Eco exam for 2021.

Here are some ideas to make it as low key as possible:

Also: GOOD LUCK!

So I recently lost my mind. I was looking back over the 2020 NSW HSC Economics exam and was trying question 20 and got hella frustrated.

So, I took my own advice. I took it step-by-step. You can see the entire process here:
mrsymonds.com/blog/what-is-going-on-with-this-question-2020-hsc-economics-q20

Check out the picture of this relatively complex economics Q below.

It is a LOT of work for one mark. Facts. But it's worth looking back over past question 20s so you can see the types of questions that are asked for the final question.

You can also find the 2020 NSW HSC Eco paper here:

YouTube analytics ranks your videos on their popularity over different time periods.

In the first 48 hours since posting, this is my most popular video.

The people like their business report explainers.

So next week (18/10) join me for the business report from the 2017 HSC -- Sportyz Goods.

Coming this Monday (11/10) -- a deep 'scoop' into the biz report question from the 2020 Biz Studies HSC.

We'll go step by step into how I'd address this question, including the key syllabus terms and the kind of content I'd include.

You can find the exam with the link below (see Q25):

See you Monday.

*Date should be 4/10

The 2021 NSW Business Studies HSC is coming up...and I've got you covered.

On Monday, I'll be dropping two videos focusing on the Limitations of Financial Reporting.

You'll learn about the theory and then apply it to some past questions.

See ya then.

Coming Monday: bring your coffee for a look at a tough tariff question.

Get a head start and find the question via this link:

It's Q18 from the 2020 NSW HSC Eco exam. This was a viewer request and I found it a challenging question...particularly for only one mark!
