Paw Paw! An overlooked fruit and wild edible. Found a big one. Gonna try planting a grove in the spring. 🌱
Asimina triloba, the American papaw, pawpaw, paw paw, or paw-paw, among many regional names, is a small deciduous tree native to the eastern United States and southern Ontario, Canada, producing a large, yellowish-green to brown fruit.
The pawpaw is a patch-forming (clonal) understory tree of hardwood forests, which is found in well-drained, deep, fertile bottomland and also hilly upland habitat.

It's spring. The house sparrows and starlings are looking for places to nest and breed. Not in our yard. Shoutout to Crow. Best kitty cat.

The Crosman has been converted to .22 and upgraded with a HP Valve. I have to say, thoroughly impressed with the performance. Solid knock-down power, formidable range (25-30 yards), and consistent accuracy. I also swapped out the 3D printed "moderator" for the new model available from Buck-Rail. The new design eliminates annoying baffle strikes, and still keeps things nice and quiet.
The raptor and owl populations get the carcasses.

First time shooting the Chiappa Little Badger in .22LR, and I am thoroughly impressed. This is a five shot group at 50 feet. I've never shot a rifle this accurate before. It may be a single shot rifle, but it makes every shot count!

Dandelion root "coffee/tea."
Dig up dandelion roots and wash them well. Finely cut them. Blacken in a frying pan. Blend up in a blender. Filter like coffee grounds with hot water. Add cream or sugar if preferred.

Every day is an adventure.
"Most folks just call it 'salvaging,' but I never liked the term. The way I see it, 'salvage' means it's broken; near worthless."
