You are keeping quiet when others have a lot to say on many things, not because you are not knowledgeable enough to say something, but you want to hold off so that when you finally start to speak;
(a) you will have taken the time to sift every chaff from the wheat in those conversations.
(b) you will not only be speaking, but will be satisfying the covert longing in the hearts of others who didn't know that they needed to hear you.
(c) your voice will carry such presence that every thing you say continues to ring in the ears of your listeners even after the conversations are over.

A friendship where there are more arguments, squabbles and everything in that line than there are healthy conversations is a friendship heading for the rocks.
Of course, everything doesn't have to be okay all the time, there could be disagreements once in a while, but when it is becoming very frequent, when things that you both would normally laugh over become a subject of contention and corrections you both give and would receive with love begin to come off as trying to put them down, then you need to know that your friendship is already sitting on a time bomb and it's just going to be a matter of time before everything explode.
