The Lucy Hobbs Project is a national, long-term program designed to innovate the dental industry by tapping into the voices of women -- from inside and outside of the industry.
The Lucy Hobbs Project honors the first woman in dentistry. Born in 1833, Lucy was refused admission to dental school because of her gender. But she persevered, eventually learning dentistry as an apprentice, graduating from the Ohio College of Dental Surgery, and becoming the first licensed female dentist in 1865. She succeeded and paved the way for other women's success. Benco Dental is committed to helping others do the same.
We will host engaging programs virtually and at events throughout the country, including the national annual event in Costa Mesa, California.
The Lucy Hobbs Project is open to everyone (male and female) -- dentists, dental assistants, hygienists, receptionists, sales representatives and customers.
