The Business History channel covers a wide canvas, including profiles of historical personalities, histories of various technologies, company histories, industry studies. It covers issues from product development and marketing, to the environmental crisis, planned obsolescence, and how past efforts will lead to future products.
The channel has been conceptualized by Kiron Kasbekar, who studied economic history as part of his economics course. Later Kiron worked as Managing Editor of Business India, the country’s leading business magazine, Business Editor of The Times of India, and Editor at The Economic Times.
In 1999, Kiron launched The Information Company Private Limited, which has provided consultancy to some of the biggest business groups in India. He then launched a software products company, Informachine Private Limited. Kiron received a patent from the US Patent Office for a software product, Organyze, along with Ghulam Mustafa, another director of the company.
