🎶 A timeless moment captured between two legends of Indian classical music: Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki and Pt. Mallikarjun Mansur. Here, Pt. Abhisheki is seen greeting Pt. Mansur with profound respect and admiration. Both stalwarts, each with their unique style, have contributed immensely to the rich tapestry of Indian classical music. This photo not only reflects the deep respect they had for each other but also exemplifies the humility and grace that true mastery often brings. Let's cherish and celebrate the legacy of these great maestros. 🎶

6 Feet 2 Inches Ustad Amir Khan would alone dominate the stage. He only needed an over qualified Tabla player to provide him a constant Theka. Khansaheb was usually very selective about his Raagas. Raag Darbari, Multani, Abhogi, Todi, Puriya, were some of the raagas he frequently sang because they used to perfectly fit into his Long Elaborate festooned Taal Cycle. The Khansaheb's choice of Tarana as an alternative to drut bandish is very notable. He had Tarana in almost all ragas he sang. His deep understanding of Persian Language and works of Amir Khusro enabled him to decode the meaning of Tarana.
47 years have passed since he passed away. The unfortunate death of Ustad in a car accident leaves the void in Understanding of Classical Music. We missed the research and many unwitnessed Raagas as well as compositions which we could have listened to only if Ustad had 10 more years to live. The Golden Voice of Khansaheb is preserved in numerous cassettes and Old Vinyl Recordings by his followers. I'm very thankful and indebted to all those people who not only heard him live but captured his voice for the generations ahead.

We have young Ustad Zakir Hussain (not more than 18) and Appasaheb Jalgaonkar. There are two more notable persons in the photo. Can you guess them.

By the time I'd joined YouTube, almost 99% of the archival recordings were already uploaded. So my part is to upload rest of the 1% recordings and do justice to the already uploaded recordings by sharing them with wider audience.
My name is Gandhar Rao and I'm a profound listener of Pt. Bhimsen Joshi. I aim to bring to you the very best of Indian Classical Music. I've not recorded any of these recordings. These are the gems preserved by various genuine collectors who wish to open their treasures for us.
The bottom-line :
