If there is a woman of the past who I look up to, it is Elisabeth Elliot. She was a true woman of the Lord and her Faith was firmly built upon the Rock. If you have not yet heard her story, I encourage you to do so as I believe it will bless you greatly!
Oh Lord, give me the heart to trust and serve you in every circumstance in my life and may I never forget the great things you have done for us. Keep my heart from the desires of this world and give me a mind which is set on you.

It's hard to believe that another year has passed! I praise God for 18 years on this earth and almost 7 years as a child of our Heavenly Father! This year has been a year of thankfulness as I reflect on everything that our heavenly Father has blessed me with. If we focus on what God is doing and what He has already done for us, we begin to see the beauty in life instead of looking to the difficult situations. Even if we face difficult situations, looking to Jesus and to the things that we've been gifted with (including Salvation) will change our perspective in any circumstance! All glory be to Christ our King!

Psalm 55:22 "Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall nourish thee: he will not suffer the righteous to fall forever." Let us not put our hope in temporal things which will pass away but may we always put our hope and trust in God! Happy Sunday and may our Heavenly Father be with you all!

What a wonderful reminder! May we always center our lives on Christ rather Christ be centered around our lives. He is our joy and our strength and comfort forever.

My family and I came together and decided to make handmade wreaths this year. We each worked very hard to put together these beautiful creations using most of it from our own backyard. Now, we need your help in choosing one out of the five wreaths that you think should win. Let me know in the comments below which one you like best! We hope to make this a family tradition that we can carry on years to come!

1: Chase (My oldest brother)
2: Nacole (My mother)
3: David (My Father)
4: Ashley (me, of course!)
5: Jacob (My other brother)

I just finished my very first quilt the other day and I must say, it was a beautiful blessing to work on. I named it, the "Abiding Quilt" because the Lord was teaching me to wait upon Him during that time that I was making it. Oftentimes, we think that we know what's best for our lives before asking the Lord what He Wills for us. It's important to realize that our lives are not our own, we belong to our Father in Heaven. We may want something so badly, but the Lord is the one who sees the future and how it will affect our lives. That's why 1 John mentions a lot about abiding in our Lord, waiting upon Him to give us our next step. Much of the Old Testament is filled with wonderful stories of men and women who waited upon the Lord and He guided them and blessed them in return. In our prayer time, let's remember The Lord's Prayer, "Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven."
Have a wonderful rest of your week and God be with you!

Hiking through our Heavenly Father's amazing creation is one of life's greatest blessings but doing it alongside two of my favorite people is another! I'm so blessed to be the little sister of two wonderful older brothers who never leave my side. Do we fail each other? Yes. Do we argue? Yes. Do we drive each other crazy sometimes? Absolutely! But even among our failures, it never affects the deep love and protection that we have for each other. My mother always told me that friends come and go but family are the ones who never leave us and to this very day, I find this to be more truthful than ever. I cannot thank my Heavenly Father enough for these beautiful treasures that we have been given here on earth.

"Love suffereth long: it is bountiful: love envieth not: love doth not boast itself: it is not puffed up:
It doth no uncomely thing: it seeketh not her own thing: it is not provoked to anger: it thinketh no evil:
It rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth:
It suffereth all things: it believeth all things: it hopeth all things: it endureth all things.
Love doth never fall away"
1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Behold, what love the Father hath given to us, that we should be called the sons of God: For this cause this world knoweth you not, because it knoweth not him. 1 John 3:1

Psalm 86:15 came to my mind this morning as I thought of this sweet picture. "But you, O Lord, are God, merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness." I was having a difficult day yesterday when my sweet friend, Megan, greeted me, showing me her shirt. I thought, "Lord you really know how to make me smile." Sometimes it's the little things in life that are actually huge blessings in God's perfect timing. We must not take for granted, the people who the Lord puts in our lives to encourage us along the way. We also must remember to encourage others in the Lord because we never know the impact we may have on someone. Galatians 6:9 "And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up."

This is something that we must remind ourselves daily. What are willing to give up to honor and glorify the Lord?
