đ¨ JULY 11-14 (THURS-SUN): Excited for this 4-night trio residency next week at CLIFF BELLâS in DOWNTOWN DETROIT featuring NYC bass legend JOHN WEBBER!
Weâll be playing 8 shows, 2 shows per night at 7:30pm & 9:30pm (except for Sunday which is 5:30pm & 7:30pm shows). Each show will feature a unique set of music that John played during his time with Horace Silver, George Coleman and Barry Harris with NO REPEATS from show to show!
This is only possible when playing with what we call in jazz: a âTUNESMITHâ. John knows every tune imaginable and it is always a joy to play with him!
This is also a historic week because while John is regularly touring internationally, this is going to be his FIRST TIME PLAYING IN DETROIT in over 20 YEARS! So I know Detroit will be excited to hear him again and if youâre in the area, you donât want to miss an opportunity to hear this master!!
To make reservations, visit cliffbells.com or call (313)961-2543.
Special shoutout to @joefieldergraphics on IG for the incredible flyer art!

âď¸ UPCOMING SOUTHWEST TOUR (5/15-5/17): looking forward to this 3 night run performing in my favorite configurations SOLO PIANO, DUO and TRIO & where Iâll be joined by my mentor, friend and one of the greatest bassists in the world, Luther Hughes.
đť Luther was the long-time bassist for the Gene Harris Quartet and has worked with many of jazzâs most celebrated icons over his 40+ year career: Horace Silver, Joe Henderson and Carmen McRae, to name a few. During the Pandemic, I was a guest panelist for Lutherâs weekly masterclass at California State University Fullerton, âHearinâ The Changesâ, alongside Chuck Israels, Bert Ligon and other renowned jazz educators. While we continue to stay in touch by phone every week comparing notes as fellow educators, this will be our first time PERFORMING together in over 4 years! We last played together at Jazz at the Merc in Temecula, CA âthe day before the world shut downâ in March 2020. So itâs only fitting that our first time performing together since COVID will be at the Merc exploring the ART OF THE DUO.
đľ After our duo concert Thursday 5/16 in SoCal, Luther and I head to Scottsdale, AZ for a special TRIO concert Friday 5/17 at the Ravenscroft. This is one of the most premiere venues in the world and I am thrilled to be back and to play on this special Ravenscroft piano again.
đż I will then stay in Arizona to finish my solo piano album ARIZONA SESSIONS to be released later this year. I kick off this 3-night run with a SOLO PIANO PERFORMANCE at LIBRETTO in Paso Robles, CA on Wednesday 5/15 which will be an exclusive preview of Arizona Sessions for this intimate audience on their special 9ft Steinway D Concert Grand.
**Shout out to @joefieldergraphics for the incredible poster design! Check out his work on his IG and be sure to hit him up for all your digital design needs!
