Simply put, Mark Demmin is not of his era. Born and bred in Peoria and Naperville, IL, Mark grew up with an incredibly wide range of music to choose from: Hymns of the church, Contemporary Christian, 70's era Rock/Pop, Smooth Jazz and the Classics. Mark quickly discovered a love for Big Band and Popular Standards. Great baritone's like Johnny Desmond, Vic Damone and Frank Sinatra became instant hero's. From this base, pipe and electronic organ's and their equally famous players opened up a totally new world for Mark. Names like Buddy Cole, George Wright, Johnny Seng and Jimmy Smith would forever leave a lasting impression on him. With the introduction of the Crooner vs.Organ series, Mark has shed new light on an instrument that is thought by many in the current music scene to be near dead. Mark's goal is to introduce that world to new concepts when it comes to the pipe organ. Not as a dusty, wheezy, non feeling musical relic but as a fresh and vibrant fount of musical possibilities!
