CHOPIN UPDATE!
The name draw for the International Chopin Competition has just been completed. The letter drawn is "T", and Ziye Tao of China will perform first in Stage I of the competition.
The schedule for the competition is as follows:
October 2: Inaugural Concert
October 3-7: Stage I
October 9-12: Stage II
October 14-16: Stage III
October 18-20: Grand Finals
October 21: Awards Gala and First Concert of the Prize Winners.

Meet Nicolas Namoradze, a pianist, neuroscientist, and the 1st prize winner of the @HonensOFFICIAL 2018 Honens International Piano Competition. Along with reminiscing on his career, Nicolas Namoradze also discusses his groundbreaking research, the "Neurorecital", combining the cutting-edge "Glass Brain" imaging technology from the University of California - San Francisco with his own classical piano performance. Having debuted at the Verbier Festival, the "Neurorecital" maps brain activity in real-time while a musician is performing an instrument, and its imaging has reached a level of clarity that is previously unseen in neuroscience.
Spoiler alert: its therapeutic potential is endless.
Nicolas also discusses the philosophy of musicality, drawing ideas from people such as Nietzsche and Schopenhauer in order to describe certain aspects of musicality.

CHOPIN UPDATE!
The Fryderyk Chopin Institute @chopininstitute in Poland has just announced that it will hold a name draw for the chronology of the 1st stage. To quote the Institute: "During the Competition, participants will perform in alphabetical order according to the first letter of their surname. The letter with which the 1st stage begins will be decided by a draw."
The draw will be held on Tuesday, September 30.
Exciting times coming up, as the Olympics of Piano, and the final destination of all competitors' Roads to Warsaw are just one week away!

It’s time to “Hone In on Honens”. @HonensOFFICIAL
I am excited to announce that my podcast will be working with and in support of the Honens International Piano Competition, Canada’s Grand Slam of international piano competitions! The first episode of this new, ongoing series will release tomorrow at 12 PM ET.
Founded by the late Esther Honens in 1992, Honens is NOT your typical piano competition. As a triennial piano competition, piano festival, record label, and music educational initiative, and fuelled by the philosophy of the “Complete Artist”, Honens reintroduces the joy of classical music to Alberta, to Canada, and to the world in a fresh, innovative way.
2025 will feature a new edition of the competition and will feature the breakthrough of some of the world’s best pianists. Honens already boasts an impressive roster of past champions such as Illia Ovcharenko (2022) and Nicolas Namoradze (2018), and as we “hone in” on this new edition, one question remains: who will be this year’s most “Complete Artist”?
This is the Legend Of… will hone in on Honens (pun VERY MUCH INTENDED), in a new ongoing series, named “Hone In On Honens”.
