I'm alive! I swear! January was so cold I basically hibernated, but I did manage to get outside and record a video a couple of weekends ago and I am finally sitting down to edit!
I wish I could promise you that it will be published this Sunday, BUT I am editing with a new software program, DaVinci Resolve, so there's a learning curve. For example, I have to encode all my video clips from 10-bit to 8-bit. Which means it might take me a bit longer to get it to you!

21 hours later, I finally made it home after a steady trek from Lincoln, Nebraska back home to North Carolina. A flight delay in Lincoln, meant I had some time to snap some photos from around the terminal (photos 1-4). Photo 5 is of the plane descending into Greensboro, NC. It's always been a dream of mine to become a Master Naturalist and today, I officially became a Northwest Piedmont Master Naturalist! β€οΈππ³πΏοΈπ₯Ύπ¦
This year-long field-based course was such an amazing experience. I learned so much about my area of North Carolina and was able to connect with so many like minded individuals. I am so excited to continue to learn and explore the natural environment and to bring this knowledge to my YouTube and Instagram followers through photographs and story telling. πΈ

Managed to capture the Northern Lights last night from my backyard. π·
Google Pixel 7a in Night Mode - yes...I have a nice camera and lens, but I was lazy and super tired. And I didn't realize the Northern Lights were a possibility until 2 minutes prior. So my phone matched my energy and effort level. π€·πΌββοΈ Regardless, it was still very cool to see!

It's truly heartbreaking to see the utter devastation of Western North Carolina from Hurricane Helene. It's a place I love exploring and photographing, and has been featured in numerous videos on my Channel.
And while my area North Carolina came away with minimal damage, so many others were not lucky. The link below is to the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund which is accepting contributions which help with the unmet needs of hurricane victims here in North Carolina.
