For years, I thought something was wrong with me.
I was told I was too much, too sensitive, too driven. Teachers said, “Val is great—when she applies herself.” I was that kid who could read at an 8th-grade level in 4th grade but wouldn’t turn in my homework. I was bored in school, constantly reprimanded for talking too much or daydreaming.
As an adult, I threw myself into everything at 120%—until I burned out. Over and over again. I built businesses, worked in a million different industries, collected certifications, and kept chasing the next thing. But no matter how hard I worked, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was failing in ways other people weren’t.
Then, at 38, I was diagnosed with ADHD.
And suddenly—it all made sense.
The procrastination, the hyperfocus, the overcommitting, the struggle with time, the ‘organized piles’ of notebooks and ideas, the deep need for excitement, the love of learning but the inability to stick to the wrong things… it was never a personal failure.
🔹 It was my ADHD. 🔹
And the moment I stopped fighting against it? Everything changed.
💡 I stopped forcing myself into systems that weren’t built for my brain.
💡 I stopped believing I had to be less of anything.
💡 I built a business that works for me instead of burning me out.
💡 And now, I help other ADHD entrepreneurs do the same.
Because ADHD isn’t a weakness—it’s a superpower. 🚀

In some seasons you will need to pull out your roadmap, or trust your intuition of your inner North Star.
And, yes. There will be setbacks.
This is an inevitable truth that we all must face along the way. 💯

Having ADHD & a creative, entrepreneurial drive is so weird.... 🔥
It's like I'm standing here wondering if I should open up a drive in movie theatre with a food cart section, a slurpie machine, and sell Charleston Chews, Twizzlers, and PopRocks... I get lost in crafting the perfect music playlist 🎶 for the GRAND OPENING because it's going to double as a concert venue (duh!)
Two hours later, I'm halfway through the Breakfast Club soundtrack and the theme song for Saved By the Bell 🔔 I wonder, "What was I doing before I spiraled on this drive in movie theatre idea...?
