Hello! Wanted to share that I have some videos Iā€™m pretty excited about planned for the coming months.

This week Iā€™ll be uploading my 25 personal favorite Kylie Minogue songs video. In honor of her triumphant new record last month I felt it was a good time for me to really dive into her catalog and share my highlights, Iā€™ve always loved Kylie but Iā€™m extra obsessed after Tension! šŸ’ƒ

At the end of the month I will share my review of both 1989 AND Speak Now (Taylorā€™s Versions). I wasnā€™t able to film a review for SN back in the summer and so thought why not tie these two together in a dual review as Iā€™ve never talked about either OG records on my channel as of yet. Iā€™ll also dive into the crazy (potentially overexposed?) stardom she finds herself in at the moment and the profound business move of the Eras tour movie.

In November Iā€™m thinking I may do another tiermaker ranking video for another artist. I was originally thinking iamamiwhoami/ionnalee but since sheā€™s teasing a new album in 2024 I may wait til after itā€™s release. Maybe Iā€™ll do Nicki Minaj in honor of Pink Friday 2? Unsure whether Iā€™ll traditionally review that record along with Emeli Sandeā€™s How Were We to Know which comes out the same dayā€¦ We shall seeā€¦ This fall seems rather slow for the music industry in my opinion, not a lot of big releases (at least from female artists). šŸ˜• Iā€™m hoping 2024 is more busy!

Obviously in December Iā€™ll share my favorite 40 songs of the year video which is always my fav to make. However Iā€™ll also put out a different kind of video in reviewing all six seasons of the acclaimed Netflix show The Crown which concludes its final season in December. Iā€™ve always wanted to rank my favorite episodes of the series and talk about the incredible show and the Royal Familyā€¦ Yes I did read Harryā€™s memoirā€¦I have lots of thoughtsā€¦ ā˜•ļø Although itā€™s not music related I do want to talk more about my favorite films and TV shows on this channel moving forward and The Crown has been one of my favorite shows the last few years.

One other BIG video Iā€™m already working on for quite some time now that I hope to have out in early 2024 is a massive ranking analysis video of all 62 to-date Walt Disney Animation Studios feature theatrical films (including upcoming Wish). Itā€™ll be a loooong video but Iā€™m eager to share my thoughts on all these varied and eclectic films that are staples of cinema and childhood for so many.
I plan to do a similar video for Pixar in the futureā€¦

All in all, lots more rambly content to come from me I promise. Hope some (if not all) these video ideas are exciting to you. Stay tuned! šŸ©µ Peace, Love and Light šŸ’«

Some of you may have noticed I had to take down yesterday's video when one viewer alerted me to the fact that the video abruptly ended questionably. Turns out the file had not exported properly leaving 15 minutes of extra footage at the end off the video. I have now re-uploaded my eurovision semi final 2 predictions video in it's entirety.

Channel update! So I've been really disappointed in myself for missing a couple albums I would have definitely reviewed in the past such as Caroline Polachek's stellar 'Desire, I Want to Turn Into You'. I even sat down and filmed my thoughts for that record, but after I just felt like I wasn't really saying anything of importance. I didn't feel motivated to dissect every little detail of her exquisitely sculpted lyrics and visuals. I had thought I would shift to doing briefer summary album reviews for artists I'm not normally such huge stans of and others who are more just mainstream pop, but then I wonder why I'm even bothering? I don't enjoy filming album reviews anymore which is a real shame but I suppose it's natural to want to move on from something after so long. Many of my favorite reviewers and reactors that inspired me to do music reviews in the first place have long since quit youtube which doesn't help my motivation... I just want to film videos I'm passionate about; more topical content about pop culture and more ranking videos (As I stated in my post last summer), I def plan on continuing to do more ranking videos.

I'm writing this because I'm facing the same dilemma with the new Miley Cyrus record. I like it, it's fine, but everything I have to say about it has been said in countless reviews I've already read online and it honestly just feels like "it could have been an email" material for me to bother filming a half-assed review. One thing I can promise though is I WILL film a detailed review of Lana's upcoming record. Lana is one of those few artists I'll always want to discuss on this channel alongside artists such as AURORA, Kerli, Bjork, Enya, ionnalee, Lady Gaga, Grimes Florence + The Machine... in-depth reviews will always come for them.

Also lots of Eurovision content coming VERY SOON! I love talking about Eurovision on this channel even though I know many of my subscribers may not be so interested in it.

Anyway, just wanted to update y'all on why I've been posting less. I enjoyed making my Grammys SOTY ranking video last month even though I knew it would get barely any views... But when have I ever cared about views?! Hahahaha...if you've been here the last 5-6 years or recently subbed, THANK YOU so much for your continued support. I'm not disappearing from YouTube don't worry, just morphing and shifting....stay tuned. X - Arthur <3

Hey everyone! Just wanted to give an update as to why I haven't been posting as much these days. Truth be told I'm really starting to burn out from doing album reviews. I can't believe I've been doing them for five years now on this channel. I had been slowly doing less and less but this summer I just really feel as though I'd like to focus on more different topics and more ranking style videos. Don't worry, I still have my core favorite artists who when they release something I will DEFINITELY film a review for, that's not changing anytime soon. (Fingers crossed we're getting a new Bjork record this fall...) The artists I've covered the most on this channel are the ones I feel the most passionately about recording reviews for. It's the more mainstream pop acts that I'm struggling with. I had been unsure initially whether I'd film a review, even a quick one, of Beyonce's new stellar record Renaissance. Let me state for the record that this is THE pop album of the year for me so far. I am OBSESSED. However, I ultimately felt that there were others in the music reviewing community, particularly black queer critics, who would better articulate and unpack everything the album is serving. I don't feel I could do the album justice with a review beyond more generic glowing praise. It's very likely I won't make a review for Demi's new record this month either, there are just so many other reviews of these popular artists out there I feel as though I'm just parroting what oher's are saying... I want my reviews to be high quality, distinct and well researched and able to grasp at the references and production styles in an enlightened manner instead of rambling like I often do trying to gather my thoughts. I want to start scripting my videos a little more to avoid being so long-winded and all over the place.
Tier ranking videos have become a favorite of mine so look forward to more of those in the future as well as perhaps more videos talking about other forms of media such as television and film. I want to film a video sharing all my thoughts on Amazon's upcoming Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power show as I'm such a huge Tolkien fan. Lot's to unpack there and I plan to also review the series on my channel in the fall.
I also have been working on a book that I plan to share in a video in the coming months as well so stay tuned for that. Anyway, that's what's going on. Hope all are well. <3

Hey peeps, unfortunately due to a pesky lingering illness my video reviews of both Dance Fever and the Eurovision semis and final will be delayed, hopefully not for very long...it's frustrating having to wait to film but I need to be able to give both videos the diligence and effort they deserve even if it means they are a week late. Florence will come first. Wishing good health to you all <3.
