HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN TRAINING?

2011 ➡️ 2023
(25yo ➡️ 37yo)

My journey with training actually stretches further back than this. But one thing is steady; my relationship with strength has always been priority.

The more I have grown- both physically and professionally, the more I have come to respect what strength training has done for me. How it has empowered me in the weakest of moments. Its ability to fuel me in the toughest of times and how it has been my motivation in the darkest of times.

While I am proud of the physical changes that have come with it, the mountains I have been able to move over the years have been because of the strength I continued to be reminded I have every time I stand before the iron.

I tell every woman I speak to, to embrace strength. To push aside their fascination of looking a specific way. Instead, replace it with feeling a specific way. Walk into a room and be the strongest woman in that room. Not because you can move the most weight.

Rather, because you continue to get up and move that fucking weight, channel every part of you and choose to be empowered instead of lazy. You choose to be the strongest version of yourself instead of sinking into self doubt, pity or self hate.

And without realizing it, decade(s) go by and you take pride in how strong you have always been. ❤️

Are you mentally and emotionally prepared to work as a personal trainer long term. Providing your clients with ongoing support and an ear when you might not have the capacity is a tough part of the job. It is not only about listening to them; but often- it can also be about providing them with the advice or motivation they need from you.

The job has incredible rewards. But often, your personal struggles and needs are not addressed.

I stepped back from youtube as “orchidsnlime” in the middle of the pandemic. I am not sure how many of you remember/know me from then. The step was a long and very difficult process for me. At the time, when I made the announcement, I was hit with tons of messages from subscribers telling me they’re unfollowing me and I was making a big mistake.

I wanted to take a break, but more importantly I needed to break INTO who I truly was. While I had continued to talk about immigration, travel and life in Canada; I ran out of fuel.

But now I am back. A bit more with my genuine self- as SHEEBA. The person that I am. I am excited to bring a hodgepodge of everything that makes me, me. The travel, the training, thyroid health- and all the little tid bits in between.

For those of you who have stuck by me, THANK YOU 🌸. For all those of you who are new; thank you for being a part of this journey.

Also, I just uploaded my first vlog in a few years and I feel like its my first video ever. While I look and sound pretty horrible in it, I hope I still was able to do some justice. 🍁
