I spent a month in China practicing my Chinese, visiting different cities, and learning about the culture. The trip was awesome, and I met a lot of interesting people. The country side was beautiful.
I told my kids yesterday “Today is international teach your kid a skill day.” I also told them I just made that up. So we turned off video games and went to the shop. The first pictures is by far my new favorite picture with my daughter.
Name something you do daily/weekly (not on a computer) that you wish you could automate. For example the content of your mailbox outside was automatically moved to the kitchen counter... or whatever. Your body was washed automatically... there are no limits. It can be completely absurd or highly useful :)
I just finished my newscaster style report of my visit to NIAR! A aviation research facility in Wichita KS. check out the video on Solidworks YouTube channel. My video is coming soon!
After carefully disassembling Jarvis at the elbow I can say for certain the gear looks just fine. Now to find the real problem … and maybe clean this thing while it is open. And figure out what kind of grease this is. Problems just keep coming some days. There is an occasional shift in the position of this joint at random times by less than one degree. No Servo/encoder errors or position errors on the controller so it thinks it is in the right position. The encoder is on the motor so I thought it might be the gear. Perhaps a metal chip stuck in the teeth or a broken tooth…I was wrong.
Did you know I speak some Chinese in the latest video? You might also be interested in hearing about the engineering marvel that is this typewriter. Its really fascinating! https://youtu.be/wMJzybAflMU
My goal is simple. Draw people to engineering with amazing projects; Inspire them with ideas; Then teach them how to do it.
I am fascinated with all things mechanical, but most of my projects require multiple disciplines so I also cover electronics, motors, and programming regularly.
