If I canā€™t join the big dogs, Iā€™ll keep up! And thatā€™s all that matters. Anyone can do this.

There was a time when we hunted to shareā€¦..
Memories with loved ones and to put meat on the table. We hunted because we enjoyed being in the mountains and in the outdoors.
For me it has not changed. When I was a kid we learned about hunting through a History teacherā€™s knowledge of hunting. A class room with paper magazines as we took our hunter safety courses, and watched horrible projector videos , a couple drunk guys with guns walking through the woods, dehydrated making stupid decisions. Making memories like this will be forever left there, non existent for future generations. Back then, there was a fever before deer season started, I canā€™t specifically name it, but it wasnā€™t buck fever. It was an emotional blend of anticipation, getting 3 days off from school, and mom making your thermos of hot chocolate at 4am, while dad took forever to get ready, Iā€™d imagine it was because he always made sure I had everything I needed first. At 13 years old, Dad would walk me in part way, then send me off on my own in the dark. Didnā€™t really fear much back then, or think about being alone in the dark, in the mountains, it was just something we did from all the anticipation, reading those field of stream magazines, with nothin but giant bucks, and dreams of what we might see when dark turned into daylight. For me those feelings and emotions will never go away.
