some time ago, I mulled over whether I should outright remove HeroQuest content from the channel, owing to its new home over on AshQuest.
I had decided not to, with the community suggestion that it would be better to encapsulate the comments and history of the time in which the content was posted.
However, the algorithm is more or less killing AmalgamAsh as a channel completely -- as people continue to spend time watching the HeroQuest content I've left here as legacy.
So, I've put some thought into how this should be handled, so that the channel gets only the views from its now intended audience - indie game enthusiasts and developers in niche game engines - and I've come up with a plan.
All HeroQuest, TTRPG and board game related content (including unboxings, skits and so on), even if deprecated, will move off of the channel in a format that celebrates the comments left on the videos. My workflow will be downloading the videos, recording the comments in a separate video, then merging them together possibly with a new opening (for context) to post on AshQuest, then making the video disappear off of AmalgamAsh.
There may be exceptions. I'm also open to alternative ideas!

Road to 5K: AmalgamAsh Edition.
With the BAKIN Summer Jam currently LIVE (join now!) and an unannounced separate engine jam coming in the Fall (should be very....Box-y!), I'm excited about the channel direction and am hoping to give it some more needed attention soon.
I have the strangest ideas for here...we'll see if they play out.
But I may take a break soon, despite the bidaily content, there's a lot on the back burner to get to and do that I need to make more time for! We'll see, it may not even be necessary!
For now, I'm enjoying a week off from the day job work, catching up on sleep debt (and then staying up extra late basically canceling my progress XD), and playing Shadow of the Erdtree.
I wanted to take a moment and thank everyone who has stuck with the channel up to this point, it's been very rewarding to just be myself and not conform to any pressure or expectation, just playing games and teaching small things where I can.
So with that said, I really hope I can get this channel to 5000 subscribers before the end of the year. That will be my goal for the rest of 2024. The subs trickle in so slowly that it's definitely not something I'm on track to do right now, but with a little elbow grease and some different choices I can make it happen.
Ideas, concerns, comments, suggestions, critique -- please share any kind of feedback you may have at all. I read everything!

Looks like I've landed on a good formula that I've been using for a while: AmalgamAsh will now have a video up on even-numbered days! I'll be hosting jams back-to-back, providing more let's-plays and dev diaries, and just about whatever my gaming heart desires on here. I thank you for following along on my niche journey!
