About
Hey everyone! Iām Nicole - originally from Australia, I now live in the US with my husband and 4 kids. My goal is to help people perfect the basics of bag making and understand the "why" so you can build the confidence to master more complex projects. My motto is, if you can sew and cut a straight line, you can sew any bag. And if you can't sew and cut a straight line yet, I can teach you how! I love to share all the tips and tricks I have picked up over the years. There is a Socrates quote, "Employ your time in improving yourself by other men's (sic) writings so that you shall come easily by what others have labored hard for", and that is how I think about bag making.
OKSew was created in 2020 for easy sharing of sewalong tutorials I made for Geek Garden Fabric, but became a passion project when my first "proper" pattern, Logi, unexpectedly took off in 2023. The channel name came about from how many times I started a sentence with āOkay, soā¦ā in my early videos.
