Okay so the hybe and min hee Jin thing…we gotta talk abt it
DISCLAIMER: I am a Kpop stan and do stan some of the groups mentioned in this whole drama but my ults are BTS. I do not have any prejudice against anyone. I do not have any sides on this matter besides with BTS
BTS is the Group that has built hybe from the ground up. That is a fact. However hybe has involved itself into things I do not support such as removing the k from Kpop, using BTS for money..and potentially now even a cult?
BTS also contribute greatly to the South Korean government bringing in half of their countries tourism. They were the youngest recipients for a cultural merit and were even named as presidential envoys, they spoke at the White House and the UN and have had many other contributions to the country as-well. Some part of the country’s gdp comes from them aswell.
Min hee Jin used to work for SM where she was responsible for many amazing concepts including a school concept for f(x) and I believe exo aswell. Now she works for hybe and owns a label called ador. She was also involved in glorifying p*dophilia
In 2014-2015 BTS also received a plagiarism accusation for copying the school concept from exo
For min hee Jin and hybe to have this dispute publicly is extremely unprofessional. I will not go over it.
But for both of them to drag BTS into this was even worse. They did nothing they are serving their country in the Military right now so why even drag them in. The school concept was a popular one so why is it a problem when BTS did it?
(I believe it’s what min hee Jin is referring to when she said BTS copied her, I don’t know tho correct me if I am wrong)
The Korean government is also now releasing an investigation to check every award and nomination BTS has received for chart manipulation
This is incredibly messed up. If u think BTS had the money to pay for a single award between their debut in 2013 until 2019 u are crazy. They barely had enough money to pay for rent plus I don’t think that when they started Promoting in the west in 2018 they would be willing to pay for awards?
Plus s.k u guys only have control over the Korean charts? What are u gonna do to check their countless international achievements aswell.
They hosted a free concert FOR U WHILE ON THEIR FIRST BREAK IN 9 YEARS??! they got 0 money and even had to pay cuz the venue had issues with the stage and seating.
They have contributed to ur economy and are serving u right now in the military AND THIS IS HOW U REPAY THEM?
I have seen some ppl hate the government for not giving an exemption. I will say that since the members never asked for it themselves it was kind of hard to do and Jin started the cycling by enlisting himself despite the debates that were going on at that time. So I think arguing on that is pointless especially now with Jin literally coming in a month.
All I know is that this is just extremely frustrating. BTS have always been exploited of and I hope the members have strong support systems cuz they are going through the thick of it when they are supposed to be on their break
