I’m Keisha.
I’m an average millennial Nova Scotian in almost every conceivable way.
But I grow food.
A lot of food.
I raise and butcher meat chickens,
Maintain a large family garden
Preserve Food,
And homeschool my preschool aged children.
Some might call me a homesteader.
But I’ve gained a preference to just being Keisha.
Raising and growing food is freedom.
I raise my own food not only to provide us with the best food possible, but be as environmentally sustainable and ethical in our food consumption as possible.
I like to leave the room looking better when I leave it, than when I entered.
I’d leave it feeling better too, if I weren’t so freaking awkward.
Don’t feel like you have to fit inside the box to be part of this movement.
There’s space for you the food sustainability community.
Growing food is for everyone, not just one side of history.
