Jesus loves you exactly as you are. They gave Their life for you. You can talk to God, you can know God and God can know you--all because Jesus died for you. They rose from the dead. They are your advocate with God the Father.
Living for your self is a lie. You can be set free from you. You can live for love. You can live to love others. You can have a new life in God, and They will put Their spirit within you. God is Love. Love is eternal.
The part of you that lives to make yourself happy at the expense of others is called 'self'. Die to your 'self' today. Be resurrected with Jesus. Let the Holy Spirit live within you. Give your life to God. They will give you life worth living.
