We spent an entire week wrapping the exterior of the house in a water and air membrane anddddd weāre still not finished š¤£ā¦honestly, we hit a bit of a breaking point and need a few days before we can emotionally handle picking this project back up again lol. We also finished the rooftop deck but with how busy the week was, we didnāt get a chance to have our first morning coffee until today and it was everything āØā¦thereās wont be a new video this week but weāll see you next Sunday, hope youāre having a lovely weekend ā¤ļø
We spent a lovely Easter together making meals, spending time with family, and finally being able to enjoy time outside now that Spring is in the airā¦ it was exactly what we needed after a long winter of construction.
The last few months weāve been crushing project after project and let me tell you, the burnout is real! Rather than pushing ourselves to put together a video this week, weāve used it to catch up on all the boring grown-up things weāve been avoiding at all costs like going to the dentist, getting a jumpstart on tax season, and ordering in supplies for upcoming projects. While not exactly the most exciting week, things are feeling a little more manageable! Weāre taking this week off from posting but we will definitely see you on Sunday, April 23rd and letās just sayā¦itās been a pane to get here but the vision for the container home is much clearer, any guesses!? š
Building our own house has been the furthest thing from smooth sailing so I honestly expected nothing less š¤£ā¦of course this would happen JUST as we got the roof on, we couldnāt at least have it sheathed in first!? Oh well, weāre loving how the roofline is looking in the new upstairs living room and a bit of forced rest might be just what I needed. Silver lining is Iām having an absolute blast giving Tyler orders, watching him clean all around me, and even getting him to make all my fav meals while I recover and watch TV š¤«š.

Canāt believe it FINALLY happened: https://youtu.be/KNJo9RCsiAs ...after 3 years of living in the woods without running water or electricity, having such an essential part of life is truly indescribable. For the last few days weāve done absolutely nothing except enjoying all this hard work. This morning we dunked in the cold plunge, followed up by a hot tub and sauna session. We gave each other haircuts and then took an outdoor shower in the snow (it was AMAZING). Feeling so fresh, glowy and relaxedā¦even though thereās a million things to do with the container home, we decided that taking this week to appreciate our accomplishments is exactly what we need. However, we need a little help from you!

You might remember at the start of 2023 we changed our upload time to be a few hours earlier. After years of posting at 4:00pm EST every Sunday, most of you still watch at that time (love that weāre apart of your Sunday evening routine). But since we made the switch, a lot of you are having trouble finding the new videos because theyāre not popping up on your Home Screen, especially those who watch on TV. We chatted with YouTube to figure out whatās going on and hereās the scoop: if less subscribers watch the video when it first comes out, the system assumes less people are interested so it will be shared less often to the community. Essentially, computers arenāt smart enough to understand the difference between not being interested and not being interested right now. All of this is to say, weāre going to start posting again at our regular time of 4:00pm Eastern, starting Sunday Feb 19th as not everyone is tech savvy enough to know how search for our videos (even our parents are struggling š¤£). Hope that makes sense and you understand, sorry for making a switch on you all yet again ā¤ļøā¦itās a stunning winter afternoon here today, weāve got our snowshoes on and are taking the boys (and squirrel) on adventure through the woods āļø.
