I’m delighted to announce that my new book, Wartime London’s ‘Bonnie and Clyde’: The Crime Spree of Betty Jones and Karl Hulten is set for publication by Pen & Sword at the end of this year. This reckless crime spree, set against the backdrop of wartime London’s dark, smoky, bomb-damaged streets, culminated in 22-year-old Karl Hulten and 18-year-old Betty Jones shooting dead a private car hire driver named George Heath on 7 October 1944.

One of the most exciting aspects of this journey was being the first person to uncover what happened to Betty after her time in jail, and having the privilege of tracing her daughter, who kindly shared her memories of her mother. With this, and a multitude of previously unpublished records, witness statements, and photographs, the book will reveal the untold story of two chaotic young people whose paths fatefully crossed, leaving a lasting impact on several families.

If you can’t wait to read more about these two extraordinary killers, take a look at my website: prashganendran.com/the-cleft-chin-murder/

Thank you for your support and I’ll keep you updated with all the latest news!

A quiet Northamptonshire village is rocked by the discovery of a dismembered body of a female. A vital clue would lead the police to the killer, the gruesome details of the murder and ultimately the victim's identity. The killer would go to the gallows firmly attesting his innocence despite there being a faint hope of reasonable doubt. If you haven't already, check out The East Haddon Murder Mystery.

Tomorrow will see the release of the Disturbing Case of the Sinister Frederick Morse. An extremely obscure true crime case which you can be forgiven for never having heard of given that much of the information surrounding it is not easy to come by. I also have more cases lined up for the next few weeks but if there's anything in particular you'd like me to cover then please let me know in the comments so that I can add it to the list. Thanks

With the nights drawing in and winter approaching, now might be a good time to enjoy listening to a cosy detective mystery audio book set in Victorian London. I have just the thing for you!

We've decided to offer you our cosy mystery audiobook The Porcelain Cat: A Detective Amarnath Mystery (previously only available on Audible) for free on YouTube. It is narrated by talented voice over artist Melanie Crawley.

The story is set in Victorian London and also features Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson. Those of you who love true crime might even be able to spot which historical murder it is loosely based on and if you think you know, let me know in the comments box.

I'm also releasing The Harrowing Murder of Fanny Adams on Wednesday. Next week you will get to learn about the little known case of Frederick Morse who lived an extremely sordid family life. It will be the first time anyone has ever covered this case in such detail as some of the details were withheld from the media but I have managed to obtain his defence barrister's notes on the case which also included what Morse's "final act" was before they hanged him.

Thank you for your support. https://youtu.be/Lg_mXuDiADI

I'm interested in your comments on the murders committed by Billy Hughes in the episode, The Peak District Murders. A family were taken hostage by an escaped criminal during a snow storm in 1977. There has been controversy over whether the Moran family might have known their killer, which could explain why they were so compliant and didn’t ask any questions or try to escape, even with a dead body in the living room. Could this have been a case of Stockholm Syndrome? Or were they simply in absolute fear of their lives?

This is a true crime story with a twist, reminding us that not everything is as it seems. Here’s a thought-provoking question for you: does the victim share any responsibility for their own demise? The killer certainly believed so and even claimed they were carrying out a form of justice. I’d love to hear your thoughts, so please check out controversial case of 'The Tinder Murder' and share your opinions in the comments.

My book Jack the Ripper: Straight for the Jugular is now out. It is significantly more in-depth than my podcast/YT series.

It's available in Kindle, paperback and hard cover formats in most Amazon marketplaces.

The book covers the case in detail along with some of the key suspects (Lechmere/Cross, Druitt, Kosminski, Hutch and many more). It also includes interesting snippets of information from newspapers of the time, such as the activities of other colourful characters who were arrested, and information on what happened afterwards to some of the police officials involved with the case. I have also drawn parallels with modern murder cases, discussed the science behind witness descriptions, and have covered the social context of the time.

I hope you'll give it a read!
