When I first started hiking, it was all about the destinationâsummits, distances, ticking off trails. But over the years, Iâve realised something:
The best hikes arenât about getting somewhere. Theyâre about being present.
Slowing down, soaking in the details, and appreciating the journey itself has made every hike more meaningful.
Whatâs a mindset shift thatâs changed the way YOU hike?

Navigation Tip: Always Look Back đ
đWhen hiking, itâs easy to focus on whatâs aheadâbut donât forget to look back.
đď¸ Trails can look completely different on the return trip, especially in dense bush or open alpine areas. Take mental notes of key landmarks, unusual trees, or trail junctions.
𼞠This simple habit can make a huge difference if you ever need to retrace your steps.

Was it a misty forest, a mountain peak, or maybe a coastal trail with epic views?
Iâll go first: Well, it's definately Tasmania and central Tassie up in the Overland Track region is hard to beat, but Norway is definately a close second!
