It’s time for me to stop failing here on YouTube. Here’s the thing, if you want to get more views, and subscribers. Then perhaps you too can decide, right now, to stop failing. I know that sounds harsh, but the fact of the matter is this.
Ever decision we make impacts our life. When we decide to not upload for months and months, that impacts our channel growth. When we decide to then upload daily for a week straight, that too impacts our results on YouTube and as you may have guessed (or not) these are the decisions I’ve made.
So moving forward, I’m promising myself to do better. To work smarter and to reach more viewers here on YouTube. You can do the same, the process begins by being honest with yourself and seeing things for how they are.
NOT HOW YOU WANT THEM TO BE …
But, how they are.
And, you can also focus on what you CAN DO to get better results. When you blame the algorithm, YouTube, your job or what ever you’re not doing that. Instead, you’re blaming your poor results on something you can not control. Fact is, most people do this. They simply do not take ownership for their dreams and goals … and they struggle.
This is not about being perfect. It’s not about never making a mistake. Rather, it’s simply stepping up and doing the scary stuff.
- Like putting yourself on camera.
- Or creating a voice over.
- Or stepping up your production with better lighting, editing or audio.
It’s about putting the focus on you and making it happen. I’m starting today and if you like, you can do the same.
You dig?

If you’re a YouTuber and watch folks like @NickNimmin, @Daniel_Batal , @BriangjohnsonTv or any of the other ‘regular’ YouTube education channels you know Doug. Doug has been one of the most helpful creators in this space and has offered so much time and attention to moderating various live streams and more.
He’s heading to VIDSUMMIT in a few weeks and is raising funds to make it happen. Just a few of YOUR dollars can make a huge difference. I just donated, please consider doing the same.
