Hi guys!! It's time for yet another apology about a lack of activity 😭
As you can imagine, it isn't planned. Unfortunately, this new medication took a sharp turn for the worst. What started as mild-- but bearable and ordinary-- side effects have progressed to ones that have impacted me quite significantly. The worst of which are constant migraines that leave me unable to look at a screen for too long, and therefore unable to do this without being in pain.
I am in the process of seeking medical advice and will likely be getting off this medication. Which would mean yet another process of leaving one medication and starting another. Hopefully the fact that I've only been on this one for a couple of months means that the withdrawals won't be too bad! Fingers crossed!
This has, unfortunately, left me quite frustrated and restless. I had a lot of plans that I had meant to set in motion by now. Including starting gaming streams! That was something I was really excited for, but just haven't found the right time to start given my health. And, being a Virgo, there's few things I hate more than delayed plans. One of those being unable to stay busy!! So it hasn't been an especially fun time.
I'm not saying all this purely to complain, but just that I think it's important to be open about these sorts of things. Mental health journeys are different for everyone and sometimes they aren't especially pretty, even when you do everything you're supposed to. Things don't always work out the way you thought, and finding the right solution can be a long and complicated process.
Rest assured, though, I'm not going anywhere. I definitely need the time off to recuperate and adjust and I wish I had a more concrete timeline of when I'd be able to release videos more consistently... For the moment, I'm just gonna cross my fingers and say hopefully things settle down by the new year! In the meantime, I'm gonna be working on what I can in the background, but I definitely can't promise to maintain a weekly schedule.

It's my birthday!! 💖
There was a time in my life when I didn't let myself get too excited for my own birthday. I didn't really have anyone to celebrate it with, so I made myself treat it like any other day. Just to avoid disappointment.
I'm happy to say I'm at a point where I feel like I can celebrate!! Because I DO have much to celebrate! Wonderful friends, milestones I've hit, being able to turn 19 years old AGAIN !! For the 8th or 9th time. I dunno. Who's really counting, anyways.
And, of course, you guys! Thank you for being here and making me feel so loved and appreciated.

Hi guys! So, as you may or may not know, starting today Youtube has implemented a new policy that uses AI to "determine" if a user is under 18 based on their activity and watch history, regardless of the user's inputted age. I don't want to spend too much summarizing the ins and outs of it all, but I am of the mind that this feature is irresponsible and ultimately detrimental to the website and its creators.
As a channel that specializes in doll collecting, it's often an uphill battle to ensure my videos are labeled internally as being for an ADULT audience. The fact that I can seemingly no longer be trusted to verify that for myself is anxiety-inducing, to say the least. I don't trust AI (especially Youtube's AI, let's be real) to maintain this for me. And it makes me worry that my audience would be affected too.
I'm not quitting. Nor calling for a boycott. This is my full-time job and I depend on YT for income-- Which is why this sucks so bad! However, my motivation to finish a video this week is at an all-time low. So I can't fully promise I'll have a new one out this Saturday.
I'm not going anywhere, though. I love doing this more than anything. I just wish I didn't feel so disrespected and like I'm always fighting against the platform.

No, really. I need your help. So, the video I'm currently working on is a full retrospective of Star Darlings-- Remember them? And I guess I underestimated exactly how much plot this series had. The book series has 14 books, and I've spent the last week reading and compiling plot summaries for all of them. The problem? These brief plot summaries alone, judging by the word count, will now contribute to quite possibly the longest video I have ever made. By a significant margin. And that's not even including discussion of the dolls, the webisodes, or how Disney handled the direction of the brand. All of which I, of course, need to talk about!
So, here's my question. Obviously, I do not mind including book summaries. You guys know I can talk about this sort of thing for hours and hours. But I want to make sure you would actually want to listen to it. The last thing I want to do is make a video that's around 2 hours long and it be boring and unwatchable 😭 So, let me know, will it better to condense the summaries into a much shorter, less detailed section? Or just go for it and let this video be however long it needs to be to discuss the full plot?

Hi hi!! Just wanted to let you guys know that I might be sparse over the next few weeks because... I'm going to Japan!! My flight leaves in just a few days, and I'll be out of the country for about 2 weeks or so. I have a video I'm working on now that I'll schedule for release while I'm gone, but beyond that, it might be a little irregular. Nothing too crazy! Probably 2 or 3 weeks without any uploads, but just wanted to let you all know in case you started missing me.
Of course, I will be filming as much as I can and compiling it all into a vlog to post once I return! (heavy on "as much as I can," because I know from experience that most businesses/public establishments do NOT want you filming inside there lol) So look forward to that. I have SO many doll shops and secondhand stores marked on my itinerary. Including a reservation to make a custom Dollfie Dream. I'm so excited!!
