Corn is all in the ground as of 8:30 tonight. T came through just fine thank god. Just have the 40 at my uncles to finish up on beans.
Still been hammer down since all the rain has been missing us. Down to 4 fields left as of tonight. Hope to knock one more out tomorrow before the rain hits in the afternoon supposedly. Have 3 videos worth of stuff on the camera right now just havenāt had any time to do any editing. Still behind on answering comments to. Been a long week.
It rained again today so I worked on one of the saws. Had partial success but adequate fuel is an issue so I got a carb kit coming. Luckily it uses a fairly common Tillotson carb so a kit was easy to find. Didnāt figure it was worth spitting a āwill it startā video on something like a chain saw so Iāll get it up in a few days when my kit shows up.
First track sub frame cut up for scrap. Not gonna lie that was satisfying. Saved the center tube the straight chunks of pin. The welded up mess of brackets are on the next load outta here.
Put 14.9-24 tires on the back to level the combine back out. They are tight but have just enough clearance for turning and oscillation. Gave me plenty of room for the corn head. Can set it flat on the ground and still have clearance. Make up some cylinder stops real quick so we canāt have an accident and sheās good to shell corn. The 1/4 inch of rain we were supposed to get has turned into almost 24 hours of non stop rain and looking at close to an inch y the time itās done. Yay.
Soil sampling an old farm site today and when I came around a dog leg In the field this poor old girl was staring at me. Old JD 55 square back with a 2 row head. They didnāt even fold the auger back up after she unloaded her last hopper.
Got the baler home without blowing a tire which surprised the hell out of me. Turns out this baler is actually older than mine by 717 units. Mine original baler is serial number 18928 and the parts baler is 18211. So they are both 1961ās.
Olivers are forever, They have to keep building the other color green!!
