Weāve started filming an overland guide series and my goal is to bring a diverse group of offroad campers on these trips. Which of these do you think would have the most unique overland setup?
Thank you to those that joined us for our live premiere of the Imogene video last night! My favorite part of premieres is getting to chat with yāall. Thank you all for watching our latest upload despite a very inconsistent upload schedule. My life has been pretty chaotic so I wanted to publicly thank Drew for getting that edit done. Heās definitely a stud!
Iām hoping to get at least one of my edits done soon, but Iām definitely filming more guides. We just finished filming our first overland guide and I looked at the footageā¦ itās going to be great! However, itās three days of footage, but three days of organized footage (my fellow editors, yāall feel me on that, right?).
First video of 2024 has been shot.
Itās a new kind of adventure so Iāll have to figure how to make it a great video for you all. Iāll likely throw a behind the scenes extremely raw member video up soon and then a bit later Iāll have a polished version to release to everyone. My goal with the video is to show you what itās like to wheel in Japan and to give you the info so you can recreate it. Thank you to my new friend Tomo for showing me around Japan the right way!
Weāre back!
New video Wednesday at 5:30pm. Drew edited the conclusion of our Marble to Aspen CO trip. I still think this trip is one of the best overland trips you can do in Colorado. Weāre trying something new with the release so weāre not sure how itāll go, but we plan to have a chat when it goes live on Wednesday.
Iām hoping to have my next edit published later this month. Thatāll be the stock TJ Rubicon vs the JL Rubicon on Moabās Fins & Things. Surprisingly the results were not exactly as I expected and Iām trying to make sure I show that well.
Our first overland trip will be in May and itās going to be a well known Moab trail into a lesser known but wild trail (likely challenging trip, experience required). Our June trip will be hopefully be a San Juan classic (beginner friendly trail, but maybe not the best conditions). If you want to join us, Iām doing it through the channel membership until I find a better method.
Hi to the best off-road community on YouTube! I know weāve stopped publishing, but itās temporary. Hereās what happened. Iāve never wanted to be a YouTube influencer, but I have wanted to become a great videomaker. Earlier this year (diesel heater review time), I was getting frustrated by my favorite fellow off-road/overland videomakers that were becoming more like the typical influencer as they grew. I usually donāt care what others do, but I was frustrated as this influencer path seemed to be the path you had to take to become a full time YouTuber (which appealed to me so I could make more videos and help my parents more). I took a break and became a skiing influencer YouTuber to walk a little in that path. Itās not the path for me and I realized I donāt need to do YouTube like anyone else. So this channel will start publishing videos again most likely in April/May and will continue till December. Weāre not going to be consistent, but we will absolutely do everything we can to provide the best off-road videos we can with each upload.
Along the lines of this, I got pushed into starting a channel membership. I almost deleted it, but I started thinking of it as a place where I could experiment with video making (these videos donāt go into the YouTube algorithm). Iāll release videos on memberships that ARE NOT trail guides or our new format guides. This post isnāt to push people to become channel members as I will ABSOLUTELY integrate the experimental member video topics into the guides (they will just come out later). I didnāt want anything to change on the channel for subscribers by adding a member section. The only thing Iāve added for members is a way to know what trails weāre filming and opportunities to join us. Previously I was doing this with my personal facebook page, but I always wanted to do this within YouTube. First I tried these YT community posts, but they donāt have a lot of reach so people missed opportunities to join us. Now Iām trying channel memberships. All members will get a monthly update video and most of the time Iāll probably just be talking about the trails weāre doing that month (so if you join, definitely watch those videos).
Alright, Drew is finishing the Aspen trail guide edit and I will start editing my TJ Rubicon vs JL Rubicon video in early April. I have a big trip in April and Iāll film it if I pull off what Iām working on. New Utah and Colorado guides will start filming in May and we will catch up on the 25 videos that need to be edited at that time too.

Iāve used these to update yāall, but weāre likely just gonna post videos from here on as I know some of yāall donāt like these. Hereās whatās coming!
Pic1) Next week: Pearl Pass is incredible and this is part of what I think is one of the most amazing Colorado āoverlandā trips you can do. Drew is editing it so itās gonna be great!
Pic2) Before 2024 I hope: Horse Creek Trail Guide with the Jeep Liberty. This trail is supposed to be harder than Hurricane Creek. Iāll also include a Liberty Update that I think the KJ fans will like. Iām editing it, but Iām happy with it so farā¦ trying to finish it.
Pic3) Thank you for supporting us in 2023! Iām personally disappointed by our 13 uploads as I really wanted to produce 3-4 vids/month. Weāre trying as I want to show you all these amazing trails that you can do. Iām trying to fix it and that leads me to Pic4.
Pic4) Weāre starting a channel membershipā¦ Iām not a big fan of patreon/memberships, but Iām hoping itāll help me get more editing help (my 12 hour workdays severely hindered my editing abilities). Nothing will change here besides community posts probably moving to memberships. I do want Colorado Mallcrawlers memberships to be awesome, but itās only offering something different. For instance, member videos are gonna be rawā¦ with the focus being good info. Pic is from an upcoming member vid.
Thank you all for being here!

Post updated as Iāll still make community posts, itās just no longer something we do often. Our main focus for the channel will be providing great videos. If you want regular updates, we do that in the form a monthly channel member video.
An off-road and overland channel that wants to make the best 4x4 trail guides we can. We feature stock vehicles like Jeep Wrangler Rubicons and lightly modified non-traditional off-road vehicles like the Cherokee/Renegade Trailhawk, Volkswagen Touareg, Ford Ranger and Raptors, and many others. The host wheels a stock Jeep JL & TJ in Colorado/Utah and his stock Jeep Liberty is in Tennessee/East Coast.
This channel isnāt like the other channels so donāt expect hemis or massive builds. Reasonable builds I can afford off my paycheck, maybe. Still, we believe the driver matters here.
Trail Rides with us: To move away from announcing trail days on Facebook, weāll be setting those up through our YouTube membership page. We also offer extra videos on membership, but these are raw and require less editing than trail guides. 100% of any funds made from YouTube go back into making better videos (cameras, courses, good editors). We have regular jobs here.
